Chapter 3: Why can't I ?

Fooling around I came off of  and activated the Element box connected to the TV

Scanning through it gave a whole lotta options you can watch movies through

I've got to check that thing out later
A couple minutes later I went into the living and sat in the sofa and noticed she was on the porch stabbing dirt

Uh, OK then

I went over there and indeed she was stabbing dirt

"What are you doing?" I asked

"I'm planting flowers vegetables"

"When did you turn a farmer" I laughed

'Well the ones in the market are filled with too much chemicals so I decided it would be best if I planted my own"

"Oh are you going to buy the seeds for them?"

"Yeah right after my soil is ready"

"Soil? Ha! That looks like dirt to me"

"You'll see" she said confidently

"I will indeed" I said walking away

I went back in the room and began watching Power

By the time I finished all the episodes available it was dark out and my aunt sat on the couch in the living room.

"So, Brenda said your too soft for the classroom huh?" Was the first thing she said the couple Minutes I sat out there looking out of space

"She said a lot more than that" I said

Changing the subject she then said
"So Rebecca is having a party next week, I'm inviting you"

Rebecca is her best friend they have been friends for as long as I can remember.
She's a police officer in Prixtons.

"Uh, OK"

She didn't say anything after that instead she got up and went into the kitchen following after her I stood at the wall while she prepared burgers

Washing her hands I heard her say
"Shoot" and started looking out of space

"What's wrong"

"Nothing, I don't even want to say anything is wrong, I don't even want to mentioned it"

Hmmmmm

"Oh, uh, OK"

" I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to Rebecca's party next weekend"

"Wait what? Why? I said looking at her to say the rest

"I have a test to do'

A test?

"What kind a test?"

"Two lumps are in my breasts"

Shut the front door

"What?"
I keep waiting on her to say that she's joking, but she never did instead she continued

"Yeah the doctor said it might be cancer, Might" she said emphasizing on might

When that was said my bottom lip was on the ground and a sad expression overtook my face

"Don't fret over your aunt"

How could I not though?

And like on cue her phone started ringing

"Its Brenda" she said pointing at me

"How'd she know you arrived" she said

Smiling I thought

She cares

I could hear my aunt responding in manner I didn't like
They were talking about me

What did I do now

She handed me the phone and right after I put it at my ears there was shouting

"I can't get in my room! What did you do the door?! There's no physics that can open the door and I don't even know how you locked it!

"What do you mean"
This is no time for Justin bieber conscience

"How did you locked the door like this?!"
"I don't understand"

"I can't get in!"
And it was then she added

"Why can't you do anything!"

Call ended

The tears begun to stream down my face

Even when I'm not around her I feel useless

"Jeez you cry a lot"

"What did she say to you?"

Should I tell her?

No

Hesitantly I lifted my tear stained cheeks

"She says I can't do anything"

I'm thinking about changing the name of this book from climbing the steps of life to climbing the steps of adulthood..
