"The usual. A lady asked me where Fifty Shades was."
"Is it still on the trending table?"
"Yes, sadly."
"Oh well. It was actually an okay book."
Travis stepped back from the counter.
"You fucking read Fifty Shades of Grey?"
"The first chapter as a dare when I was a sophomore. It was written pretty well, I just didn't like it."
"I read the sexy parts and almost choked."
"On what?"
"My gag-mouth-whatever-the-fuck."
"I have no idea what you just said."
"You know, the scarf things with the little bouncy ball in the middle to meet you from... okay, never mind. Just a joke."
Ethan grabbed a book from the classics table.
"What, you're actually reading?"
"If you read it, I'll read it."
The book was called The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
"I'm not a fan of mysteries."
"It's a great book."
"I won't be able to read it."
"I'll pay for them."
Travis thought over the two blue-covered books in front of them, then slowly reached for the first one to check out.
"I'll use my employee discount."
"You get one?"
"Yeah. Counter employees get the employee discount this month."
"Cool. How much for the two books?"
"What do you think?"
"It wouldn't be."
"Well, you're not correct. $7.49, please."
