The Best of Both Worlds
Inside my grown up mind
There resides a little girl
Longing for a daddy's love
To complete her fragile world.
There was a time when her Daddy's life
Shone bright and strong and true
Yet now his light calls Heaven home
Leaving her forever blue.
My grown up mind, when Daddy left,
Stood brave and tall and bold.
Yet, the little girl inside of me
Cried lost and alone in the cold.
The little girl's mournful tears
No more could Heaven withstand,
Sent forth a brand new Daddy
To take hold her troubled hand.
Now from all sides, the little girl is loved
Her fragile world repaired.
Loved by a Daddy here on earth
And cherished from a Daddy in Heaven above.
Some girls never know a Daddy's love,
How lucky I am to have two.
Thank you Lord for giving me
The very best of both worlds.
