They tell us: 'Everything is gonna be alright'
And 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger'
I know how little those words help
When you are completely lost
And yet I still told you:
'Hang on, it's gonna get better'
And as those words left my mouth
I hated myself for saying them
'Cause I know I hate those words
And maybe you needed to hear them
But it doesn't matter
And 'I am sorry' won't help either
