My hand grabbed a chair nearby and pulled it up against her bed where I sat down and took her warm hand in mine. A tiny smile crept onto my lips when I noticed the ring she was wearing, my thumb tracing it before I dropped my head to lay a small kiss onto her knuckles. She looked well, like she was going to heal quickly and wake up soon enough.
All I had to do was wait.

I rouse from a heavy slumber when I felt a dull ache in my head. A soft groan escaped my lips when I accidentally moved my head a little too quickly, causing the ache to intensify ever so slightly. My eyelids flickered open, before immediately shutting when I found the light too bright. My eyes scrunched up before opening again, vision blurred before I blinked again. My hazy vision was clearing up, the person sat next to my bed becoming more distinguishable as he smiled at me gently.
"Harry?" I mumbled; eyes squinting as I began to make out the details of the person.
"No habibi it's Sami," Sami frowned playfully at me; his words making me chuckle lightly. "How're you feeling?"
"Okay, I guess," I sighed. "My head feels like shit. How long have I been resting for?"
"About three days. You're healing fast. That pain you're experiencing will stop soon enough, but for now I'll give you some painkillers," Sami said, helping me sit up in bed. "Want some water?"
"Yes please."
He held a glass of water to my mouth, fingers supporting my chin as he gently aided me in drinking, even though I was capable of doing it myself. I felt slightly refreshed after that drink of water, inhaling deeply as I looked around the room for Harry, slightly disappointed when I couldn't find him. Sami noticed this, immediately parting his lips to speak.
"He got called in for an urgent meeting with Valkyrie," Sami informed me, making me nod. "He stayed by your side every day Scarlett, guess he got unlucky today," Sami chuckled lightly; his words making me smile.
"Do you know when he'll be back?" I asked.
"In a few minutes I suppose. I texted him just now, I should probably call him instead," Sami shrugged, pulling his phone out and walking towards the door. "I'll get Sullivan to check up on you, those pains will disappear completely in like 20 minutes or so, then you'll be discharged!" And with that he left the room.
After a few minutes Sullivan entered again with a smile stretching on his lips when he saw me. He questioned if I could remember anything of our previous encounters, and I thought hard, trying to pick up on anything. My face paled and my heart fell in my chest when I came up with anything, tears already pricking my eyes when Sullivan's face fell and he looked to the ground. He did his best to comfort me, but my heart felt heavy. I couldn't help but think of when I was going to see Harry, the way his eyes would light up with hope when he'd see me, only to be destroyed by the bad news.
Sullivan cleaned my wound and checked up on me, seeing if everything was alright and etc. He unhooked me from all the machines nearby since I didn't need the IV drip anymore, and allowed me to change into my own clothes and out of the hospital gown.
A heavy sigh left my lips as I wiped my face with a clean towel, feeling better now that I had freshened up and was in my own clothes instead of a hospital gown. My heart still felt like lead, the constant anxiety knocking my head like a sledgehammer every time I thought of Harry's reaction. It was probably just the dull headache I was experiencing. I pulled apart the top section of my hair back, revealing the wound that was covered by a tiny bandage. The bald spot looked hideous but luckily it was under a curtain of my hair so it was covered up easily.
