I push the door with my shoulder as my hands are full. The door swings open and I walk into the bare room.
I lean my board against the wall and drop my bags on the floor, not bothering to unpack them as I know this will not last long it never does! I fall back on the bed and stare at the ceiling.
What am I going to do? I wish I could make them last but I always mess it up. We finally get a home and then I mess it up and we are shipped off again. Kind of like unwanted cargo. I feel sorry for Teddy.
Shit! I forgot about him!
I jumped off the bed and half ran half walked down the hallway to his 'new' room. I stop at the door only to see him standing in front of a set of draws. He just stood there looking at it.
' hey buddy whatcha doin?' I ask startling him.
He spun around realising it was only me he sighed. ' how long are we going to be at this one for do I bother unpacking?'He asked I can't help but notice the pleading look in his eyes.
'I don't know' I sigh.
I sit down on his bed and he sits next to me.
' I liked the last place' he confesses.
' I know mate I. I know' I rub his back.
' Ollie why do we keep moving. Does no body want me?'he asks me in a whispers.
' no Ted of course they want you, It's my fault, you know I have trouble with new people' I assure him.
' can you please try I don't want to move again' a tear falls to his cheek.
'I do try' i answer
'Please try harder' he begs tears streaming down his face.
Teddy's right I need to try harder. For him it's not fair on him. It's not fair for him to suffer cause I'm to stubborn.
Teddy is only 6. I first met him when he was 2 he was dumped on the front door of the foster home I was at, at the time.
I remember he used to call me Ollie cause he couldn't say my name properly.
*flashback*
'Where is my mum?' a little boy walked into my room.
'Have you seen my mum?' He begged
'No' I shrugged not really caring there were new kids in and out like clock work so I never really got attached to them.
Next thing I know he was sitting next to me on the bed.
'Where am I?' He asked tears pricking his eyes.
'Hell' I replied coldly.
All of the kids in this place are annoying so I usually just ignore them and they go away but Ted wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
'What's your name?'he sniffled
"Olivia' I replied
That night when I was asleep I heard the door creak open and being the light sleeper I am not to mention my past history that I would rather forget, I reach for the closest thing I can defend my self with which happens to be a half full water bottle.
Great! I am quite possibly about to be murdered and I grab a water bottle.
FML.
'Who's there?' I croak.
