Flashback ends -

"Is it necessary to go right now? "
You asked Chris, who was getting ready to leave at 2 in the morning. Chris avoided you and your questions, looking for his jacket in the wardrobe.
"here",you handed his jacket to him. Chris frowned at you and snatched his jacket from your hand. He quickly went downstairs and put on his shoes,ready to leave. You didn't know where he was going neither you had courage to ask him.
You quickly followed him and wanted to ask again hoping that he would listen to you. But the moment you opened your mouth, he cut you off in a harsh tone,
" I won't be back tonight and probably tomorrow. Don't bother calling or texting me. I have some important work to do so better don't disturb me".
"But Chris... "
You wanted to hug him tightly and kiss him, but the moment you stepped closer you saw Chris out of sight. You were standing there, Numb. You never wished Chris to be like this. He was acting weird.
You sighed heavily and closed the door. Tears started to pool around the corner of your eyes. He's been like this for past three weeks. You couldn't understand what was with him. Why was he so rude to you suddenly. Every time you wanted to be with him, he would just shove you away. You never thought that this day would also come where you both will be so distant to each other .
You went back to your shared bedroom with Chris. You curled yourself into a ball and wrapped yourself with a blanket. Tears started to roll down your eyes when you saw your and his photograph placed on the side table. You knew this was going to be the end of your relationship with him. You saw it coming. But still you had a hope ,deep inside your heart,
"maybe he'll come back to you again. "

"But was it true? "
