"How will you feel like a positive, when all you are is a negative? That is just lying to yourself, and only to yourself. If you multiply only a
negative can make a negative positive again. Only a-"

"Stop trying to be poetic! You're using numbers. Who does that?"called an agitated voice.

He cleared his throat. "As I was saying, if you add a positive number with a negative number that has the same absolute value you get a zero-"

"Zero like the action in your social life! This is math class, not your love story."

"Alright, that's it. Who said that?!" the enraged math teacher demanded.

No one bothered to answer him. Just like that girl in high school who gave him the wrong number-

      "Dude, stop talking."

Shocked, the math teacher decided to continue on with his lesson. This time, he was paying attention to his audience. Particularly, the boy in the back of the room looking bored out of his mind. After another one of his golden comments, the teacher walked up to his desk.

"Please, just get on with the..." his voice died down at the sight of the fuming man in slacks.

      "Enjoying your position, Mr. Matthew?"

"Nah man, it would be way better if this was a rolling chair."

"You think that you're so funny, don't you?"

"No, I know that I'm funny. And that I'm the only thing that is making your class interesting," he shot him a cheeky grin.

      "Fine, I propose a deal."

"I hope it won't be like the last time you actually proposed to a female. Don't worry, I can't storm out when I reject you because I'm too lazy to get out of my seat," he said after his sigh.

"Ha, joke's on you! She left me before I could propose," he blurted before he could think about what he said.

"Dude, that's even worse," his eyes twinkled with amusement.

"Getting back to the deal," he swiftly switched the topic. "You can teach this class of sleeping zombies for a day. Let's see how you handle them as the main entertainer."

The whole class's attention was on him now. "Go on," Aiden urged.

"But, as you have learned from your dating experiences, life isn't a fairytale. I won't magically become that guy who cares about your hardships."

It was the teacher's turn to smile. "Ah, but Mr. Matthews, that story would fall under the category of realistic fiction. Those types of stories are told for a reason you know."

"Fine," he broke, rolling his eyes after a fifteen second staring contest. "Whatever. Hey, did I ever tell you that I wanted to be a teacher?"

"No, you never did," the teacher was greatly pleased.

"Good, because that means that I don't want to be a teacher."

His smile fell. "Tomorrow is your first-"

      "And last!"

"-day on the job. Make me proud Matthews," the teacher said halfheartedly with a slap to Mr. Matthew's back.
