Nerd with Jordans

Chapter 1

 I started to walk down the hall to my next class when Amber came up to me.

"OOOO!What did you do this time April?!" She grabbed me by my shoulders and shook me so hard that I could feel my bun flop everywhere. 

"What are you talking about?" I was utterly confused, it's only second period, what could I've done?

"Oh, ha ha. Seriously, when were you going to tell me that your dating EMERSON EVERET!" If I was drinking water I would of done a spit take on her.

"I'M WHAT!" I think I would know if I was going out with one of the most popular guys in school. 

"Why are you acting so surprised?" Ok, she maybe taking Advanced Calculus, but sometimes Amber can be really dumb.

"I don't know. Maybe because I'm NOT dating EMERSON EVERET!" Now I was shaking her shoulders so hard that her high pony tail was now a low one.

"Calm down. Jeez! Your gonna shake my eyes outta their sockets!"I let go of her,and she quickly re-did her hair. 

"Anyways, where did you hear that?" I said while fixing my bun.

"From Emerson." She said it so casually like it was no big deal.

"Emerson told you that we were together?!" It was more of a statement then a question.

"Well, he didn't exactly say it TO me, or exactly say it was YOU,but he did say it!" I tilted my head, curved one end of my lip up and raised an eyebrow.

"What?" I was so confused.

"So, I was at my locker, and Emerson and a group of his friends were there. I heard one of them ask if he was getting back with his ex,and he said no because he was with someone already. Then the same guy asked who,and he said the girl that tutors him in math and wears thick brown glasses. That's when I ran to find you." She was so excited, that she was jumping up and down.

"That could be any one. I only tutor him on Thursdays, and the other girl that tutors him has glasses like mine." I was in-denial.

"He also said that she had an attitude problem." She said it with a serious tone.

"Ok, that MAYBE me. MAYBE. But that still doesn't make sense because were not together. Nowhere near it. Actually, I only tolerate him so that I can bring my math grade up from a  A- to at least an A." I could suddenly feel my blood start to boil. How dare he go and tell his friends that we were together. What?Was he going to ask me out and was so sure that I'd say yes that he decided to spread the news now?! Oh, he's gonna get a mouth full when I see him. 

"Oh no. April, chill out. Your face is all red and you have that look in your eye. You know the one that the shark in Nemo gets when he smells Dori's blood? Yeah, that look. Come on, we have English next, I think were doing an essay on War and Peace. It should calm you down before lunch." Amber went to the side of me,grabbed my shoulders,and guided my to class.

All that I could think about in class was Emerson,and it wasn't because I had some major crush on him. The only crush I was thinking about was one that involved my fist and his face. The bell rang after English and took me out of my trance. That's when I realized it.

We have lunch next.
