Heath glanced at Venice while slightly laughing. She was holding her scalp in an attempt to hold her imaginary hair as if it was still there.
“Mas weirdong tignan kapag naka-wig ka. Mamaya liparin pa yung wig mo. Tsaka ayoko.” Hinila niya ang hawak niyang kamay ni Venice para palapitin ito. “Cute ka nga e. Muhkang bagong silang na sanggol.”
“Alien kamo.” She grinned, appeased with a simple flattery from her husband. Then suddenly she pouted her lips while imitating something extraterrestrial. “Be-be-be-beep.”
“Ok ka KOKEY.” Tumatangong sagot ni Heath sa kanya.
While Venice laughed, Heath slightly scanned their surroundings.
They were drawing attention just by entering the mall but people made way for them.
He was thankful that fans showed courtesy by not disturbing them. They didn’t take pictures or asked for autographs nor stopped what they were doing just to stare and gawk at them. They just smiled brightly at Venice. In their own way, all the people they passed by made it seem like it was just a normal day. A typical reaction because they knew she was dying. From the back of his head he could just imagine the look of pity each one had for them… for her.
Venice seemed oblivious about it as they continued to stroll around like a normal couple on a normal date. They stopped here and there from time to time when something caught her interest while chatting.
“Hay!” mahabang buntong-hininga ni Venice sa kanya habang tinitignan ang palad nilang magkasalop. “Alam mo ba? Matagal ko ng pangarap na maka-holding hands ka.”
“Matagal naman na tayong nag-ho-holding hands.”
“Eh ‘yun naman kasi binabayaran tayo!” protesta ni Venice.
“Ikaw lang.” He said bluntly that it took time for Venice to realize it.
“Hmm?” takang napatigil si Venice habang napataas ang ulo nito.
He tried to hide his smile but she caught him.
“Esh!” pinalo siya ni Venice sa braso habang nanlalaki ang mata nito. “Kaya pala kinikilabutan ako kapag nag-ho-holding hands tayo tuwing production, promotion, interview at mall show!” Nanlaki ang mata ni Venice sa kanya at tumingkayad pa ito palapit sa kanya habang paakyat sila ng escalator. “ Hmm! Matagal nang may halong pagnanasa yung holding hands mo!”
