it's been a year now since you and your best friend moved to seoul, korea.

you both had dreams here, you more then her. you wanted to study and become a artist, meanwhile your best friend wanted to learn the culture and language.

you were fluent in korean but your friend was getting there. you help her out but most of the time you just speak english to each other like its a secret language others at school don't understand.

y/f/n (your friends name): ahh y/n!! one day can we go to a kpop concert or a fan signing please!!

one other thing.. your friend is OBSESSED with kpop. she always gets you to translate and learn songs and dances.

y/n: you know that we can't go to a fan meet up until you're fluent in korean, as for concerts... we'll see...

y/f/n: late birthday present? '･ᴗ･'

she smirked at you

y/n: we'll see...

after that you both got ready for school. the weekends just ended and it was the start of a new year.

y/f/n: ah y/n after school, i have some new choreography i want you to learn.

even though your focus was art, your friend knew you loved to dance and sing so she would always find new kpop dances for you to learn even if you weren't into that kinda thing. you gotta admit the dances were pretty awesome, they made y/f/n happy and that's what matters.

you walked together to school, you always left quite early so you could stop and get some snacks in a corner shop.

the bell rang as you entered the store.

staff: hello again girls!

y/n: hiiii

the worker always called you two his favourite customers, he was about 30 years old and was up to date with all the things we liked. he knew y/f/n didn't speak korean fluently so he tried to help her out with buying the things she wanted.

y/f/n looked at you pointing at a magazine she found.

y/f/n: y/n !! look it's the bangtan boyssss

she seemed really passionate about them, she always talked about these bangtan people. i'm guessing it was her favourite group?? she always made me learn their songs the most.

y/n: how much is it?

the staff came over to us and i told him how y/f/n wanted it.

staff: ah, you can have it for free. my late birthday gift for her.

y/n: really?! thank you very much!

it was y/f/n's birthday three days ago.
because we were preparing for school so much we didn't get to do anything special.

y/f/n: y/n? what did he say??

y/n: he said you can have it for free! a gift from him!

y/f/n: oh my god!!

she seemed really happy which made me smile.

she ran over to the worker and hugged him and kept bowing over and over again.

y/n: haha come on, let's go to school now.

i payed for two chocolate bars and some strawberry and banana milk for us and we waved goodbye and left.

as soon as we left y/f/n instantly opened the magazine and started looking at all the pictures.

y/f/n: argh y/n!! translate for me please.

y/n: later, later... just look at the cute pictures of the boys first.

y/f/n: i will!!

she stared at the pictures of who i assume we're the bang bang buddies. i never really remember their names.

y/f/n: ahh he's so hot!! look at their hair.

she shoved the page in my face and pointed at their hair.

y/n: great, that's... interesting.

y/f/n: isn't it???

we carried on walking and she wouldn't stop talking about how favourite member "john cook" or something i don't know...

we finally made it to school and went to the hall where other students were so we could get our timetable to see if we had any of the same classes.

we saw one of our friends and went over to them, they luckily knew how to speak english too so they could actually talk to y/f/n.

I walked over to her and gave her a hug, i haven't seen her all summer and it was nice to see her face again.

the other students said hi to us but we were quickly interrupted when the head teacher began to talk to all the students at the front on a microphone.
