"So", panimula ni Sarah habang nakikipagsisiksikan kami papuntang school hub. "Malapit na yung midterms and until now hindi pa tayo lumalabas ng legit."

I rolled my eyes at that. I can't blame Sarah for wanting to "have fun and go wildin". Her words, not mine. She doesn't know my real situation at home, after all.

Sarah has been my best friend since forever. I met her during a business party when we were 9, anak sya ng isa sa mga investor sa company namin. Since then, we've been each other's go-to person. Although, I haven't been the most honest friend out there for a while now and its killing me.

"Sarah, you know I can't." I fixed my glasses at bahagyang tumingin sa kaibigan ko. "Madami akong ginagawa recently since I'm catching up sa school and sa kumpanya."

"Oh bullshit. Gasgas na yang excuse mo ha!" Sinamaan nya ako ng tingin ngunit binaling nya rin agad ang atensyon sa dinaraanan nang muntikan syang makabunggo.

"Excuses or not, they're responsibilities."

"Wag nga ako," Inikutan nya ako ng mata. "Alam kong alien ka pero you're not that workaholic. You've been gone for almost a year. Bumawi ka hoy."

Here's the thing. Sarah thought that I went away last year to study handling our company by managing one of our company branch in the US. So I wouldn't be surprised if my "busy as a bee" excuse is truly gasgas na for her.

"We always do coffeeshop dates..."

"Coffeeshop dates my ass. I said have fun and go wildiiin, hindi yung magpapakapalpitate tayo habang tinatapos mo yung coursework mo."

I grimaced at that. I'm not exactly the type to have fun and go 'wildin'. Isa pa, the last time I let go, I put a bun in my oven. Thanks but no thanks.

I tried to come up with some excuse to placate her for at least a few more days but nothing came to mind. Yet again, I want to kick myself for not telling her about what happened nung year-end party when I had the chance. But what would I say naman kasi that time?

'Hey! Remember that one party where I magically disappeared? Well, that's not the only magic that happened.'

Oh god. I just shuddered at the thought.

Either way, Sarah will kill me. She'll probably jump and go crazy on me first for landing a "magical night" with one of the hottest student in our school THEN kill me for hiding the "magic" that Seth and I did. Again, shudder.

"Please, Margaux?! I'm not kidding when I say I missed you. You've been gone for a year. A year, woman! Plus, its almost midterms. I need this." Now though, we were lucky na may sabay kaming vacant kaya sa school hub kami natambay pampalipas ng oras.

"Exactly. Malapit na magmidterm exams tapos gusto mong magwalwal? Shouldn't it be after?"

"Pft. Pre-exams, post-exams. Same thing." Sagot ni Sarah. Umiling na lang ako at hindi napigilan ang sariling mapangiti sa rasonan nya. Basta sa mga galaan talaga, walang makakapigil kay Sarah. I really don't know how we're bestfriends when she's all over the place while I'm contented sitting in a corner with a book. "Also, nagsabi si Tim na available sya this Friday! You have to come with us!"

Ah. That's why. Tim's from another department at naging kaclose ni Sarah last year nung nag-irreg sya sa PE class ni Tim at naging magpartner sila sa mga activities. I don't know what's the total score between them but may malaking crush si Sarah kay Tim. Although I've only met him a handful of times since I came back to study, he seems like a good guy.
