Olivia's POV:

My brother and I were wondering what was our "dad" doing. He said we were going roller skating but I soon figured out he lied after we passed the city into the forest. My brain started racking up thoughts of what he was doing. He could be going to kill us, after all he isn't even the real father that made us what does he care about us. We were just his dead wife's kids. In fact we hardly even know the guy but I guess me and Ryan had no where else to go and didn't know who or what to trust. Either our 15 year old brains or an adults decisions. I decide to watch and see where this goes.

"Um I think we passed the skating rink." I said trying to get a few answers. "Oh yeah. Change of plans I have to pick up some deer meat from my friends barn." 'Dear meat? That's disgusting.' I thought to myself. "Oh. Okay." Ryan says and looks at me. His eyes, I hated the look he gave. It showed anxiety and I could tell he was thinking of any possible thing that could go wrong. I gave him a 'calm down' look and he took a deep breath after.

We arrived to the barn which wasn't large at all. Wasn't even really a barn more like a medium sized shack. It was painted red with a green tin roof but it was short. "Can you two go get the meat and throw it back in the truck for me. I think I pulled a muscle in my back the other day and I don't want it to get worse." he said as he looked back at us and smiled. I got out but Ryan didn't want to. I could tell he was feeling like this was the end. I'm pretty sure he is thinking as soon as he gets out our stepdad will pull a gun and shoot us. Ryan gets out and we walk in to the barn. "Olivia I don't feel so good." he says to me while picking up a pack. I pick one up after him. "Relax Ryan. I'm sure he is just having back pain. Let's take this out to the truck." I say and we walk out of the barn.

As we walk out of the barn carrying the heavy deer meat, which stinks horribly, we see our stepdad throwing our bags on the ground and a couple of other things. "Um what is this?" I ask in a sort of angry tone. "Sorry kids, but you are no longer my responsibility. Goodbye kids." he says and hops inside his truck. 'Oh shit' I think in my head. I drop the deer meat and run for his truck and so does Ryan but he zooms off faster than my classmates when the teacher ask who wants to deliver something to the office.

"I fucking knew it! I knew something was up!" Ryan says as he panics. "Calm down all we have to do is follow the road back. And when we do get back we will call the police and go live with dad in Canada." I said as I start to walk. Ryan yanks my hand back and stops me from walking any further. "Look what time it is." he says and I look where the sun is. It's about 7 or that's what it looks like. If we leave now it will be night fall and who knows what happens out here at night time. I start to think about what does happen. I see coyotes in my head, not very pleasant sight. I see a man wondering in the woods. He could be nice but there's a 90 % chance he isn't friendly. Ryan is right we have to stay over night.

"You're right. We'll stay." I say and walk over to the stuff the bitch who left us here dropped out for us. My bag was the blue book bag and Ryan's was the green one. I grabbed both of ours and we walked into the barn. He closed the door and thankfully there was a lock on the inside so he locked it. I sat down and opened my bag to see what was inside.

A jacket (since it was quite cold out), there was a sleeping bag, 7 packs of baloney (which had 24 in each pack), a med kit, a water can, 5 boxes of matches, a flash light, my favorite knife I got last year (its blue), a loaf of bread (slightly smushed), some pads, and a magnum and its ammo. A gun? He just gave two 15 year olds a gun? Okay then.

In Ryan's bag he packed a jacket, a sleeping bag, a flashlight, a metal pot, a machete, Ryan's favorite knife he also got last year which is green, a sewing kit, a full thing of wire, rope, a water can, 5 boxes of matches, a compass, and a magnum with its ammo. So we each have a knife and a gun.
