"Miranda? What do you see here?"

"It is another butterfly." I sighed once more.

My dad calls this 'bonding'. I call it 'the-dad-psychologist-psychoanalysing-his-daughter'.

"Miranda, I am being serious. How am I supposed to know if you are okay or not?"

"Dad, the only reason I am here, is because you wouldn't let me go to a normal school. We both know there is nothing wrong with me."

My dad shook his head. "We talked about this already. If I were to let you go to some other school, where would you stay?"

"Some guy, once upon a time, decided that boarding school was a word and built one." I rolled my eyes at him.

He narrowed his eyes, "Don't think that I don't know the things that happen in boarding school. Besides, this is sort of like that and there's a bonus to this place."

"This is a rehabilitation facility, what could possibly be a bonus?" I crossed my arms.

"Why, time with your old man, of course!" He laughed heartily, as if he won an award for 'best dad joke of the year '.

"That's not even funny. The lack of being around sane people is affecting you, severely. Oh, look. Looks like it's time for me to call some non-existent person. Bye dad."

I walked speedily out of his office, making a beeline for my room.

It wasn't bad here, I had made friends -well, one friend- but the fact that all my friends were either delusional or psychotic made me wonder what normal teenagers are like.

I don't live under a rock or anything. My dad gets paid a lot for his job, and with his money came the technology and Internet privileges. The others here don't get that. The most they get, are those granny phones that can only be used to call the staff here.

My best friend, Raydon, hacked my number into his phone. He's literally the only person I talk to here. This is why it was no surprise to see him lounging on my floor with a book in his hand.

"Hey, Ray! What are you reading now?" Ray has read almost every book ever written, even though he denies it.

He closes the book, keeping his finger on the page and says, "The Bane Chronicles. It's one of those stand alone books from a series, if you know what I mean."

"I don't. Not to be rude, don't you have art therapy now?"

"I switched with my reading time. I don't feel the need to be with Bianca right now."

I sat down beside him, "Hmmm... What has she said now?"

Bianca has been Ray's girlfriend since she came, which was two months ago.
She was admitted for he addiction to alcohol and she's recovered pretty quickly. My dad assumes that she'll leave in a month.

"She doesn't find it appropriate that my best friend is a girl. I guess she has trust issues. I told her that she needs to stop being clingy and she cried."

"Maybe you weren't meant to be. She's leaving in a month and you know that long distance things don't really work out." I tried to convince him.

I don't like him like that. From the beginning, their relationship was destructive. The councillors even told them so, but they can't force you who to like, so they let them be.

He looked me in the eye, "Yeah, that's what I told her."

"You broke up with her?"

"Yes, I don't really love her anymore."

I smiled at him, "Well, my schizophrenic friend, I think you need to lighten your mood if you've lightened your burden. My dad has cake in his fridge, let's raid it."

"Chocolate or cheesecake?"

"Even better... Caramel and chocolate mousse layered cake."

We spent the night eating cake and drinking flavoured water, under supervision of my dad. When the night was over, just as Ray was leaving, we grinned devilishly at each other, and I wished that I savoured the moment, because what came next, just wasn't supposed to happen.

Hey! So I assume that I'm supposed to interact with my readers in order to get some support. This might not be prize worthy, but there's no harm in sharing my thoughts. If you name was mentioned, I don't know you. And if this situation is somehow your situation, it is purely by coincidence.

The wholepoint of writing this is because it's sort of a competition between my sister and I. Your vote counts!

(Mahn... I feel like a politician.)

I don't know how long this should be ( or each chapter) but I know that if you want to skip it, feel free.

I really don't think that this should be any longer, so I'll just leave now.
(awkward silence)
Bye!
