CHAPTER ONE

it was a bright, sunny day; the warm spring breeze wrapped around wheein's body as she walked to the bus stop.

the scent of cherry blossoms lingered in the air. normally, wheein hated walking to the bus stop in the mornings, but today felt different. she was happy.

recently a girl with short, vivid orange hair, has been catching the bus. she definitely wasn't new, wheein had seen her around at school, but never had the courage to approach her. something about the girl made her so intriguing, wheein has always admired her from afar- wondering what it would be like to talk to her, or just be in her presence.

there was no doubt that the girl was stunning. she was so breathtaking, so captivating. the way her short wavy hair brushed against her neck; the way her eyes crinkled as she laughed; the way she made the dull school uniform look amazing on her body. for wheein, everything the girl did was beautiful in the most simplest way.

as wheein reached the bus stop, no one was there, so she sat alone.

she wasn't one to interact with others socially, or have many friends. in fact, she only had one friend, and they inconveniently lived half way across the world.

the bus stopped, opening the doors for the lonely girl to get on. usually, the bus would be packed, yet today there was a spare seat near the back. she took it.

wheein sat down, reaching into her bag to find her earphones. that was the only way she could make it through the bus ride without feeling uncomfortable- listening to music.

she pushed her long, dark hair behind her ears, and started listening to her favourite song.

wheein's gaze was focused on whatever was outside. occasionally the bus would come to a stop and let people on.

by now, the bus was full, but wheein still sat alone.

then when the yellow vehicle came to a halt, the area very familiar to wheein, she looked up. and there she was, walking onto the bus. her hips swayed as she tried moving past the people who were standing. her orange hair tugged behind her right ear. her bottom lip pulled between her teeth as she focused on walking past everyone.

and that was when it happened; wheein and her, made eye contact.

wheein tried smiling, to seem friendly, and with the hope of her sitting beside the dark haired girl. but, she just stared at her, she was so beautiful. she wanted to take in her features- memorize what she looked like so she'd never forget.

it didn't last long, though. the girl turned her gaze all too abruptly for wheein's liking.

the orange haired girl's name was called out by one of her friends, who indicated a spot next to her, and she happily took it.

wheein was slightly disappointed that the girl didn't sit next to her, but that wasn't really important, because she always held onto the hope that maybe one day she'll get a chance.

and the fact that she now knows the mysterious girl's name, made up for it;

hwasa.
