"I got you this."
He tossed a small, navy blue box towards me. Picking it up from where it landed it landed on the bed, I investigated it curiously.
"Josh, what is this?"
"I have no idea, open it."
Glaring at him, I lifted the lid, which offered little resistance.
The beautiful silver necklace immediately caught a gleam of light from the beams pouring in through the window behind me. A small chain held a single pendant with a depiction of a hand with crossed fingers.
He smiled.
"It's a promise."
