"Not interested, Nat!"

You sprint toward the other end of the courtyard, as fast as your legs will carry you.

While most would find a friendship with the Black Widow exciting and potentially dangerous, you find it annoying.

As if you need another more consistent reminder that you really should have your life together right now. I mean, single people can't possibly be content!

"He's really hot." Natasha says in a sing song voice, easily keeping up with your stride.

   Darn you little legs!

"Which means he probably doesn't have any actual good attributes " you turn to face her.

"Cold" she doesn't disagree, which is just as bad "Uugh! You're so stubborn, Y/N"

"I'm very limited edition" you adjust your sunglasses and fold your arms "This kind if special doesn't just happen."

Natasha sighs deeply and leans against a planter "If you weren't a puny human, I'd brain you."

"Is that Hulk speak for 'not an Avenger' ?" You tease.

"Now you've crossed the line" Natasha gets to her feet, intent on catching you before you dance out of reach.

"I'm one of two people in this world that know you had a thing for him." You laugh, shielding yourself from her playful blows.

"You better keep that under wraps, young lady!" She puts on a stern expression.

You raise an eyebrow and she makes a face "Gah! I sound like Steve!"

"Maybe you have a thing for him too."

"Not Steve" Natasha shakes her head "He's too..."

   She hesitates.

"Perfect? Charming? Amazingly Attractive?" You throw out descriptions.

"Uptight" she says, firmly "He's too stiff to have a good time. Actually, he's a lot... like ... you". Her eyes grow as big a saucers.

"Don't you dare, Natasha Romanoff" That look in her eyes doesn't settle well.

"He's perfect!" She glazes over, imaging the possibilities.

"You just said he was uptight!"

   "Steve!"

Steve holds his newspaper a little higher to shield his face.

Nat pulls it away and sits beside him on the couch, grinning deviously  "Soooo"

The Captain frowns, baby blue eyes darting back and forth across her face "I don't like where this is going."

Nat snorts "I haven't even said anything yet."

"You've got that look in your eyes" Steve says dryly "Now give me back my paper."

Nat dangles it in front of him "I have this friend."

"Natasha, you're thinking about this way too much!" He scolds, intent on his paper "That's enough."

"Butyoutwowouldbesocutetogether!" She insists "At least let me introduce you. You need someone!"

Nat's pleading expression makes Steve chuckle "I'm not interested, Nat, but your concern is touching".

From the hall, Tony hears most of this conversation, and doesn't resist putting in his two cents. "She's right, Steve. You need a reason to loosen up, use some of that old world charm."

Steve snorts, and covers his face with the paper.

"You should bring her here, Nat" Tony gives Natasha a knowing look "If the Capsicle won't, maybe your friend will".

It's Natasha's turn to snort "Not Y/N. She'd  chew me out for 'interfering'".

"See?" Tony grins, at an annoyed Steve "You'd be perfect for each other."

Steve gets up and takes his paper to a quieter part of the house.
