Sydney's POV

I covered both ears with my hands to protect them from Aubrey's loud screeching. I swear she was a witch. She sure sounded like one.

"OH MY GOD! I can't believe the annual spring dance is only three days away!" She squealed, looking at me with a wide grin glued on her face. She suddenly frowned, her face falling and her eyes widening as she realised something. "Oh shit. Shit shit shit. SHIT." She cursed one word after the other.

"What now?" I asked, eyebrow raised.

"We haven't bought our dresses yet." She informed and I sighed.

"It's fine, I don't need any new ones. I'm sure I have some in my closet." I shrugged. I didn't need to splash so much money on a dress when I'm going to be buying an expensive one for our senior prom anyways.

"What?" She shrieked, shaking her head. "No, just no. If you're not going to buy it for yourself, then I'll buy it for you." She said.

I rolled my eyes. "Stop it, Aubrey. Don't waste money on me, trust me, I don't need a new dress."

"You do! I don't care, come on, you're going and that's it." She sternly said, and I couldn't help but laugh at her tone.

Someone knocked on the door and I furrowed my eyebrows. "Uh, come in."

Mom appeared in the doorway as she door opened. She smiled, "Hey, just here to ask you girls if you need anything, soda, snacks..?" She suggested and I smiled at her 'hospitality'.

"It's okay, mom." I nodded.

"It's fine, I don't need anything Mrs Campbell, thanks." Aubrey grinned, "And can you please tell Sydney that she has to come dress shopping with me for the dance?" Dammit, that sly bitch always knew what to do to make me go places I didn't want to.

"Sydney, of course you have to go! Here," Mom fished a number of dollar notes from he pocket, "My treat." She smiled and I shook my head but she insisted, "It's fine. Now get up and go!" I knew there was no point in arguing with her so I just sighed.

"Ugh, okay, okay." I put my hands up, earning a gleeful smile from my mother and a smirk from Aubrey as mom left my room.

"Don't smirk." I narrowed my eyes at her but my lips twitched and a small smile appeared on my face.

"You love me." She raised her brows.

"Sadly." I muttered, and I was then bombarded with a mountain of pillows as I fell to the ground with Aubrey jumping on top of me.

"So, he has asked you to go with him, right?" Aubrey asked, shuffling through the rack of dresses taking a brief look at me.

"Obviously." I muttered, in a 'duh' tone.

"No need to give attitude." Aubrey rolled her eyes.

"What about that Cameron guy?" I asked, looking through a pile of messy clothes.

"Him." Aubrey said, in a disgusted tone.

"What happened?" Dammit, Cameron seemed nice.

"I caught him in bed with some barbie girl." Aubrey said through gritted teeth and my eyes widened.

"He cheated on you?" My mouth fell open in shock as I processed this new information.

"Uh huh, and when he saw I was there, all he did was smirk and ask 'what's up?'. The nerve of him. But eh, I'm happy because I punched his eye and slapped the girl." She said with a very smug look on her face as I grinned.
