"Miss. Asteria, wake up. You need to go to school." Maid Kayla said. Kayla was a pale yet somehow young looking 15 year old. Kayla had pale blue eyes with light blonde hair that was tied in a loose plait.

Asteria cringed as light filled her eyes. Asteria was an 11 year old with flowing black hair with amethyst eyes. "Kayla...please. 5 more minutes." Asteria muttered as she closed her eyes again. Kayla sighed and ripped off the covers. Asteria turned and sat up. She turned and glared at Kayla.

"I hate you." Asteria jumped off her bed and walked towards her walk in closet.

Her feet padded across the cold marble tiles. She put her hands on the brass handles and flung the doors open. Multiple crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Pillars shot up to the ceiling that divided her clothes and trunks were neatly placed under the clothes. Historic mirrors hung from the pillars. Kayla trailed after Asteria taking out dresses, shoes, accessories and all sorts and asking if Asteria wanted to wear them. Asteria shook her head every time until she found the one she wanted to wear. Every day Asteria walked into her closet it felt liked she waltzed into a ballroom. She thought her closet were bigger than Grandfather's bed room.

Asteria ran her hand along the dresses as Kayla spoke, "So....It's almost your birthday. How old are you turning? 12?"

"Yeah." Asteria nodded as she said so. "What do you do when I'm at not around?" Asteria asked picking out a dark red dress with a matching bow.

"I go to school of course." Kayla said helping her  tie the bow in Asteria's hair. "What school?" Asteria asked as she buckled her black shoes that tapped against hard surfaces.

Kayla hesitated, "An ordinary school... What do you do with your governess?" They walked out of the closet and headed towards the white doors.

"I do maths, English, Music, Art, Mythology, Science...." said Asteria as she got her square leather book-bag from the brass hook that hung near the door.

"Yes, we do all those stuff as well." Kayla said as she opened the door for Asteria.

Asteria stepped out of her bedroom doors and continued to walk down the long endless hallway. There was only the sound of Asteria's shoes clicking against the blinding marble pathway to the dining room. A few more maids named Lauren and Milly opened the grand doors which revealed the long dining table with a white stainless cloth draped over it. Satin cream curtains stood next to the big windows that showed the quartz fountain, the big lake shaped in a swan, the willow tree where Asteria went to relax, it also showed the stable where grandfather kept his prized horses. Asteria's favorite horse was a sleek black mare called Black Lily. Grandfather let Asteria ride Black Lily sometimes.

"Good morning, Asteria." A cold but soothing voice called.

"Good morning, Grandfather." Asteria answered as she sat down on the white leather chair. She poked at her eggs with her silverware.

"Asteria, your governess is away sick so you have a free day today. What do feel like doing? I'm not going to the factory." Grandfather asked before he scooped a spoonful of egg into his mouth. Asteria felt light. She always wanted to spend time with her Grandfather but he was to busy working at his factory.

She always wanted to do one thing with him. "I wanted to ride horses with you please."

Grandfather stopped chewing and raised an eyebrow and swallowed, "Horse riding you say? Well it should be good practicing...."

This time Asteria raised an eyebrow, "Practice for what Grandfather?"

Grandfather looked at Asteria and smiled, "Nothing. So horse riding it is! After breakfast we will get changed into our gear and we will ride!"

Asteria smiled. She was so happy she couldn't stop smiling. "So Asteria. Almost your birthday! It's tomorrow, is it not?"

Asteria nodded at Grandfather's question. "I'll ask the chefs to make...what your favorite type of cake?"

Asteria thought carefully about this question, "Chocolate Crepe cake please."

Grandfather's face brightened, "Ah! Crepe cake. My favorite type of cake. OK, then Chocolate Crepe cake it is!"

After breakfast Asteria brushed her teeth and got changed into her horse riding clothes. Knee high leather boots. A black round helmet. White blouse with matching pants. She wore a dark red petticoat that lead down to her half her thighs. She had no professional stick that Grandfather had. Asteria tied her hair into two plaits. She ran out towards the stables where Grandfather was waiting. Grandfather wore basically the same that she wore but with a black petticoat and a men's size. Grandfather saddled his favorite horse Cisco and he helped Asteria saddle Black Lily. They played horseback croquet. They did an obstacle course. It was turning dusk before they even knew that time had passed.

When the sun had dimmed stars popped up. They rode back to the stable and unsaddled their horses. Asteria skipped ahead of her Grandfather. She was jumping with glee. She had never had fun this much with her Grandfather she wished she could have this day again. Once inside they all said their 'good night's' and Grandfather stepped into his room. Asteria changed into her silk pyjamas and brushed her teeth. Asteria brushed her hair and put a black elastic headband with lace in her hair. Straight after she got ready she fell onto her bed with exhaustion. She snuggled into her fluffy mattress with her soft duvet covering her from the cold.

Asteria was sure she closed her eyes but she was in a realm with....

Dragons.
