phil didn't offer me a pill, in fact he left without
a word.

seconds later, my mother rang the doorbell.

at the time, I, of course, did not know it was her.

when i opened the door however, and saw her i was greeted with an exhausted face.

she held several bags in her hands and walked past me, setting them down in the kitchen.

when i thought about it, i couldn't remember eating recently.

all i could remember was phil coming back.
