As we reached the stairs, the woman whose name was Natasha spoke loudly, her voice echoing throughout the entire ballroom loud and clear. She thanked everyone was has been able to attend tonight's ball, celebrating The Comet being in order and staying at the top of the hierarchy of importance for a decade now. Vicky and I parted ways quietly, knowing that the speech was just a distraction for both of us to get into our places. Vicky was supposed to 'seduce' Sami, while I was meant to do the same to Scarlett. The others, Damien, Jade and Seth made sure that the rest of αήττητος was occupied with their mission on taking out The Comet.

"I got new information," Max suddenly spoke into my ear, causing me to jolt slightly in surprise.

"What is it?" I whispered, walking to a corner of the ballroom, leaning against the wall as my eyes lay fixated on Scarlett.

"Damien listened in on a conversation between Viola and Makoa, with that bionic spy ear thing Raoul made. Turns out at exactly 10:00 the lights will go out and αήττητος will take action. It's 8:45 now, so you and Vicky have enough time to get Scarlett and Sami before that," Max told me clearly, this time he made sure he tuned in everyone else's earpieces so they could record this new information into their minds too.

"Right, where do we bring them?" I questioned sharply, watching how Scarlett excused herself from a conversation she was engaged with.

"To the roof," he answered, before telling me the directions as I saw Scarlett approach the bar and taking a seat there.

"Do The Comet know of what's going to happen?" I muttered under my breath questioningly, tucking my hands into my pockets as I walked towards the bar.

"Yes and they're fully prepared. We just have to get Scarlett and Sami and then we're out. Do you have the poison?" Max asked.

"Don't call it that," I groaned lightly, grimacing at the thought. Scarlett obviously wouldn't willingly go with me, and neither would Sami; so Vicky and I had to spike their drinks. "Yes of course."

"Whoops sorry mate. I dunno what to call it. Anyways, good luck," Max bid me goodbye before he was out.

My eyes darted around, checking if Scarlett was completely alone without the likes of Donovan lurking around or any other member of their team. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Vicky talking to Sami, already flirting with him and making him smile and laugh. As I turned my head back, my eyes landed on Scarlett, whose back was faced towards me as she sat with her body facing away from the bar, but her elbows resting on the counter top as she ordered a drink.

I felt sudden anxiety flood me all of a sudden, my mouth forming a rigid grimace as I swallowed thickly. I wasn't exactly sure why I was nervous or anxious, but it had been around five months since Scarlett was gone, supposedly dead; and now here she was, sitting there in the most beautiful dress, drinking and conversing with the bartender, as she had no memory of me. But the Scarlett I knew was a curious person, and me saying her name that day caused confusion to flood her, I could see it in her eyes. If anything, this curiosity must've been eating her up ever since that night, so perhaps there was a chance she'd come with me willingly than me having to resort to spiking her drink.

The seat next to her was empty, my body moving on its own accord, climbing onto the seat. I felt her gaze fall on me as I called over a bartender and asked for a scotch. I felt her gaze fall away from me for a second when the bartender arrived with my drink, sliding it across the counter and into my hand. I took a sip, feeling the drink burn my throat and calm my nerves.

"Fancy seeing you here," she spoke, my breath halting in my throat at the sound of her voice, just reminding me again of how much I had missed it.
