Bullets flew into the room, killing any soldiers that stood in the line of fire. The soldier kneeling above me hesitated, then threw the knife down in frustration. He then unholstered a sub-,aching gun and slowly made his way towards the door. My vision started blurring on me, and everything started to be unclear. I couldn't really tell what was going on except for sharp movements in the room I was in, everything else looked the same. The soldier made it to the doorway and stood next to it. He looked around the doorway and neatly got his head blown off. He growled, then grit his teeth. He raised his gun above eye level and jumped out of cover, spraying through the doorway. As he did so, a hail of bullets were flying through the doorway and hitting him. I could see the bullets flying out his back and ricocheting off the wall behind him. He coughed, dropped his gun on the ground. His right leg hit the ground, then his left. He yelled for a brief moment, then face planted on the cold, metal flooring.

I laughed for a moment, but stopped. There were still New Order soldiers in the room, and if any of them noticed they would shoot me on sight. I looked over at Jack, and he was laying on the ground, motionless. I started moving my hand across the floor, but stopped midway. My energy was really low after the drugs had worn off and after all the blood I lost. I was nothing more then a rock at this second, an unmoving rock. In the middle of my thoughts, a man jumped into the room, guns blazing. He hit at least two soldiers, but soon succumb to enemy fire and fell to the ground. Then another man walked in, that's right, he walked.

He spraying his automatic shotgun in the room. The remaining soldiers didn't stand a chance and were shot down. He sighed and smiled, resting his gun on his shoulder. A few more men came into the room, kneeling near killed soldiers. I was wondering what they were looking for, until I saw one looking at Jack. The man ran towards Jack and called for someone to help. Another man ran over and grabbed a syringe out of his pocket. He injected Jack, and the first man started pounding on Jack's chest with his fist. I laid on the ground, watching the who,e scene play out. Then I saw another man run over, but this time they ran to me. They moved my head to face them, and looked in my eyes. They had a deep, dark stare that I couldn't get out of my mind. He grabbed tape out of his pocket and put it on my arm. He then took out a syringe and placed the needle right next to the tape. The syringe was punctured into my arm and injected some red-blue liquid into my bloodstream. I could feel it coarse through my veins, and it spread like a wildfire. I wasn't sure if this drug would be good or bad, but it all went black in a matter of seconds.

I woke up in a room. The room was all blurred at first, only showing a glowing white. Then it started becoming more detailed, and I saw equipment, a doorway, walls, and a ceiling. I was laying down in some sort of bed, with a paper blanket over me. There were red stains on the paper, and I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. The equipment contained a syringe, a small tube that was connected to an outlet, a knife, and a first aid kit. There were a couple more tools that I couldn't really see, and the ones I could were hard identify. When I fully regained my vision, I saw one major detail that for some reason, I hadn't seen. "Finally, you woke up." Sally said, sitting in a little green chair next to a small table. "I was wondering if I should take a nap myself." I smiled. The pain started going away, and I tried standing up. My legs wouldn't even get out of their position, and they stayed glued to the bed.

"Probably shouldn't get up, anyways." Sally said. She got up from the chair and walked over. She rested her hands on the bed and stared into my eyes. She seemed worried, more then anything. But besides that she also seemed happy. She had a big smile across her face, the type that was like she were trying to mask her worries with that on her face. That didn't really help me, and I started talking. "What the hell happened?" I said. She sighed, then started talking. "My guards assaulted the testing sight at the boutique. They found you and Jack dying in the meeting room in that godforsaken place." She took her hands off the bed and started walking around while continuing to talk. "They brought you to me, and I gave you the medical treatment needed to keep you alive. Right now we are in The Federated Republic territory." She walked over to the bed again. "Shouldn't you be at the shop?" I said, puzzled. She smiled. "The New Order saw the bodies of the doctors men, and then found my underground hideout. My team killed the soldiers, and we went on the run." I was a little surprised, but I knew sooner or later The New Order would come in, asking questions about the diner shooting. To keep herself hidden from the soldiers. She would have to get out of New Order territory. "Did you get the info?" I said. After all that, I would have hoped we got something out of it. "Yes,but most of it had to be spent." Spent? Spent on what? Make up for her dressing kits? Hiring another personal bodyguard? Needed to know. "What did you spend it on, exactly?"

She laughed. "Why, on your medical bill, of coarse!" She continued laughing, but stopped when she saw that I wasn't. "Look..." She said. "I needed to pay the bill, at least if you wanted to continue breathing." I shrug, then sighed. "Where's Jack?" I said. Sally started playing around with some of her hair, twirling it in circles. "He'll be fine, doctors say that he will make it." She said, continuing to twirl her hair. "But he won't be able to work for a few days, a week if necessary." Sally then looked at a clock in the room. She cursed. "Have to go, sorry." She blew me a quick kiss, and I just rolled my eyes. She chuckled and ran out the door, shutting it behind her. I was left in the bed. Maybe Jack had become paralyzed by some of the gunshots, or maybe an affect from the painkillers he kept giving himself. Must be something with the drugs. Sally's left on purpose. I could tell that she thought I would get upset. She hated to see me get all teary. Lucky for her, I wasn't. At least Jack would come out of it, unlike Toby. When Sally left, I heard something in the air vents. A soft clanging noise that stopped immediately when I looked at the vent. I looked away, and the noise didn't happen again. At this point, I was a little freaked out. Maybe someone was watching? Or worse, distributing some sort of toxin into the vents? The New Order has been known to distribute toxins against The Federated Republic in business buildings, but never in their own. So what was it?

The thought clang to my mind. I looked back at the vent and it's plain, grey looks. I tried looking into the vent for any sign of movement but to no avail. I tried moving my legs. My left leg would move a little, the right had no response. I cursed. Then I started hearing the soft clanging again. I looked back at the vent, and it did not stop. I cursed again and grabbed a nearby medical tool and threw it at the vent. The tool hit the vent with a clank and fell to the ground. The noise continued. I grabbed another tool and threw it at the vent. Another loud clank, and the noise still didn't stop. "Fuck off." I said, and the noise stopped for a second, but continued. I rested my head against the soft pillow on my bed and tried to ignore the noise. The clanging only got louder. I reached to grab another tool, but there were none. "Fuck off!" I yelled. By then someone outside must've heard me, because I heard the sound of footsteps approaching. The noise stopped when the door to my room opened, revealing a woman in a white suit. "Are you okay, sir?" She said. I nodded and she hesitated for a moment, then replied. "Oh alright. Please keep it down though." With that she shut the door.
