Both of them don't seem to question me any further and continue doing whatever they were doing. I begin to leave the kitchen but then I remember something.

"Uhm, Mom?" I ask while standing at the doorway of the kitchen.

"Yes, Avelyn?" she replies looking up to me from the newspaper she was holding.

"I was thinking if I could take your car to College?"

She takes off her glasses and says, "Why? Don't you usually go with Valerie or whatever her name is?"

"Its Veronica. And no, not anymore I don't. It would be a lot easier if I had my own car." I respond looking at her.

I have been wanting a car since I was 16. I also got my drivers license just incase my parents gifted me a car like they did to my elder twin brother and sister when they turned 16. But things did change so much after that I never really thought it would happen.

"Why don't you go with her anymore?" My dad asks me with a confused look, completely changing the subject of me wanting a car. I knew it, even though he was rich as hell, he would never gift me a car, or gift me anything for that matter. The only thing I got from him was my pocket money which was 500 dollars every month, which I had been saving incase I wanted to move out of my house for many reasons. Which I can't, because I'm still 17.

"We don't talk anymore." I refer to Veronica. You see Veronica was my best friend, or atleast I thought she was, in highschool. We did everything together, EVERYTHING. But things really do change, she changed. Everything changed and it all went down the drain. My parents, they didn't know it ofcourse. They know nothing about me.

My Dad just nods and doesn't say anything else. He could've atleast offered to drive me there, but nope, that doesn't happen in Avelyn Lorde's life.

"Well, you can take Chris' car today. I'm sure he won't mind, he's still asleep and if he wants to go anywhere I'll let him use my car. The keys are on the counter by the door." My mom states.

She could let him use her car but not me. Okay.

"Alright." I respond, wanting to say 'thankyou' but the voice in my head says other wise. I nod at them awkwardly and go out by the door, grab my brother's car keys and go towards the garage.

I go by the garage and see the beautiful Chevy Camaro there. I have only driven this car once, and boy was it amazing. I unlock the car and sit inside of it. Here goes nothing.

______________________

I park my bother's car at the front and enter the large gates and look over at the students roaming all around campus. The sunlight dances off and reflects the water in the large fountain in the middle, strikes the burgundy brick walls and also the exquisite fields of flowers that surrounds the big garden on the right. The stone pavement makes my ankle boots tick on the ground. There is alot of greenery, large signs and posters on boards everywhere and a large sign that reads "UNIVERSITY OF REDWOOD." I actually think I'm going to fit in here and like this place.

This was better than how I imagined it. I mentally thank my dad for sending me here. After all, my parents want their kids to be perfect in all ways and have the best education. Although I have great grades, I'm still a disappointment to them.

I look over to the small cabin on the left and walk towards it. I want to get a map of this place or I'll surely get lost.

I see a bald man siting on a rickety old chair. By the looks of him he looks somewhere around 50 years old. He seems to be concentrating on looking at something over at the small torn paper in his hand. He doesn't seem to notice me standing there so I clear my throat loudly to get his attention.

He then seems to notice me and stands up from his chair, "Oh hello there young lady I didn't see you there." He politely says.

"Yeah, because you were busy looking over at some empty packet of gum." I utter while licking my teeth.

"Oh uhm, sorry. I..wanted to see the ingredients." He's embarrassed. I could see the red creeping up his face.

I couldn't help but lightly laugh at this, he seemed like a cool person to me.

"Well I came here to get the map. Do you have those in here?"

"Yes! Yes we do," He pauses and opens a large cabinet behind him, he takes out a binder, picks out the map and hands it over to me. "Here you go dear. You must be new here then. Welcome to UOR. I'm Joe, if you need anything, I'll be here to help." He smiles.

"Okay well, see you later Joe." I wave at him and leave the cabin. Now I have got to find the accounts office to know about my schedule.

I look at the map and try to spot the office. I follow the map and go on walking where the map leads me. Thats when I collide with something solid, it felt like someone's chest, and that's when I fell on the ground. For a moment I thought my nose was broken but thank god it wasn't when I touched it. I looked up to see that god darn walking pillar, and thats when I spotted the man.

He was gorgeous. No not even gorgeous, he was probably the most attractive person I might have ever seen in my life. His jaw was chiseled, he had dark grey eyes that I swear I got lost in. From the position I was on the ground, he looked almost as tall as a tree. Yeah right. I could see his defined and muscular body structure so properly from the ground. He had dark brown hair which were neatly gelled upwards. And he was holding his hand out to me with a worried expression He looked so amazing- No wait, why the hell am I thinking all this?! Nope, snap out of it Avelyn, I can't fall for this trick again. Not after that. Not never.

I shook my head and stood up from the ground, completely rejecting his offer to help me up. My map and my phone were now on the ground, I picked them up and tried walking past him. But that was when he grabbed my arm. I quickly turned around at him and raised an eyebrow while looking at my arm.

"Oh sorry," He mumbles while letting go of me. "I'm so sorry I should've seen you were walking from here. Are you okay? Are you hurt or anything?" he asks worriedly.

"Does that matter?" I huff.

"Hey, I'm really sorry, if I can, in any way make it up to you please let me know." He responds.

"I really don't care." I roll my eyes and walk towards the account office.

"Hey wait up! Can I atleast know your name?" He shrugs. Ofcourse he's following me right now.

"No."

"Why not?" He teases. By the look on his face, I know he's teasing but I ain't falling for it.

"Get the hell away from me." I furrow my eyebrows.

"Alright alright! Prissy." he mumbles.

I really don't care what he's saying right now. All I want is to get away from him, I shouldn't repeat something I told myself a thousand times not to. I should keep a miles distance from him. Yeah.

"Well I'm heading back now, I'm Evan Hunter by the way, It was nice meeting you. I hope to see you more often, yeah?" He says looking over at me.

I don't respond and finally find the account office a little ahead of me. He finally goes back and leaves me alone. Ugh, well it was about time he left.

I glance back at him and see he's rubbing the back of his neck and looking over at his phone.

 Evan Hunter, hmm.
