Maya's POV (5 days later)
So today I'm going over Riley's tonight to have dinner with her family I'm in my bathroom getting ready and Kyle knocks on the door it's open so I see him
"I'm not ready yet" I say
"Yeah I know that's not why I'm here"
"Then why"
"Lucas thinks your avoiding him"
"Why?" I says I am I think to myself
"He says every time he walks in the same room as you, you leave....and I agree"
"I need to get dress"
"Maya"
"What!"
"Are you? Avoiding him"
"Aren't you the one who told me to hide my feeling for him"
"Maybe I was wrong"
"Maybe you weren't"
"No I was" Kyle says then leaving the room
I get to Riley's and knock on the door Shawn answers it's been 3 months since I met him and we are kinda close
"Hey Maya" he says
"Hey Shawn" I say walking in
1 hour later
After we finish eating we sit at the table and start a conversation
"So Maya is Officer James going to adopt you" Shawn asks
"I don't think so and I'm ok with that I'm going to be 18 in a year so what's the point"
"You need a family Maya"
I get a text saying that I have to come home
"I have to go I'll see you at school Riley"
I head home and when I get there Lucas is sitting on the couch I try to go upstairs as fast as I can but Lucas stops me
"Maya!" He yells
"Yeah"
"Are you mad at me"
"No, why would I be"
"Your ignoring me"
"No I'm not" when I says that he gives me a look
"Ok fine, it's just weird between us now" I continue
"Why"
"Because Lucas, Kyle keeps says that I'm basically your sister and I see the way you look at me and I don't know what I feel about you, so what am I supposed to do, Lucas"
"Talk to me" he says grabbing both of my hand
