He was running.

Running....

Running...........

Blood red demonic eyes appeared in front of him with a cocky grin.

"Too slow jack? I thought you were faster than that?"

A sick crunch of bone echoed throughout the wasteland as jack stared in horror of the brutal death.

Jack felt so much hate and sorrow while staring at the spot the limp body rested.

The pale dead face stared up at jack with a pleading look before speaking in a horrific hollow tone.

"It's not fair, it's not fair..." He kept repeating to himself.

"I know it's not fair. 'Life's not fair ' as you like to keep telling me. But either way, this is my choice. Please respect it."

His scream probably woke the entire neighborhood up. He didn't really care at the moment as the very vivid memories faded away to the dark corners of jacks mind before he finally calmed down enough before his mother June Darby burst through the door with a panicked look on her face.

"Jack? Jack what are you screaming about?" She took notice of the shaken appearance of her son before going into mother mode. "Listen jack. I need you to calm down and take deep breaths before you tell me what has you so riled up." She was about to go on with her rant before jack cut her off.

"Nah mom, I just had a bad dream." He half lied. More like the devil had been scared out of him.

The half truth seemed to do the trick as June's fretting decreased in intensity and she settled for checking him over for any self made injuries in his episode.

After finding nothing but a recovering jack she reluctantly stepped back and let him lay back on the bed.

An unsure frown graced her face as jack waved off his obviously serious panic attack as if it was a normal occurrence. She might ask arcee to ask what happened and help him sleep.

Jack seemed to be holding back mental scars from whatever happened. He needed to talk and soon or else he wouldn't be getting any more sleep.

She rested her hand on his shoulder before reassuring him.

"Just try to focus on the better parts and you can sleep easier okay?"

He nodded before laying back down to rest.
Wouldn't do any good for him jumping at old ghost and losing sleep. He had a math test tomorrow anyway.

June smiled and got to leave the room. "Sleep tight." She closed the door before going off to bed herself.

Jack closed his eyes only to stare into those same red eyes and sick grin he imagined every night since returning.

"Don't let the monsters bite."

Jack hardly got any sleep that night.

The end of school bell for seventh period rang and jack barely made it out the class room as a veritable mob of students rushed out to either get to the buses or their cars. Friday's always caused a rush. He was pretty sure one or two kids got trampled trying to go the other way.
