This chapter is for requesters to refer to in case you'd like more clarification on the types of covers we offer. The three cover types are simple, manip, and minimal covers.

Below you will see a short description and an example of each type of cover. Please choose whichever would go best with your cover in mind and add it to your forms.

SIMPLE

Simple covers usually just use one enlarged photo and has text placed on top of it. They are usually very clean-cut and easy to look at, with no fancy effects or textures added to them. This can be used if you want to highlight or accentuate a certain element of your story. For example, if you write a book all about Luke Hemmings and you want a cover that highlights that fact, you may want a simple cover with just one photo of him, with no other distractions.

As you can see below, this cover uses a very simple and eye-catching photo of a person with white, easily-readable font.

MANIP

Manip covers place elements and photos that originally weren't tied together into a blended/harmonious cover. They have effects and 'manipulated' photos with corrected color, saturation, brightness, etc. and added textures. Manip covers are usually requested for more complicated-looking covers.

As you can see below, The textures behind the couple were separate photos that the designer found and added in place, and the two characters were placed together to make it seem as though they are actually beside each other.

MINIMAL

Minimal covers accentuate an element more than a simple cover. In other words, they are more 'simple' than the simple covers. They use the least amount of detail to create an image, and usually has some kind of graphic or an illustration like a balloon, cat, boat, hamburger, etc.

As you can see below , the designer used a very minimally-detailed graphic of a boat to accentuate the element of the story.

As you can see below , the designer used a very minimally-detailed graphic of a boat to accentuate the element of the story
