First, he forced me to sit through a horrible dinner interview with Clark yesterday and now he wants me to skip my afternoon classes? He's mental! He's not the one who will suffer if they miss anything important in class and fail. This is my education we're talking about, even if I did dislike studying and curse it numerous times a day.
"It's important business Jade. This involves your future." Jesse faced me and to my surprise, he was serious. I contemplated for a while.
After a minute of thinking, I asked, "My future, or Clark's?"
"Clark's." my jaw dropped at his quick response.
I was only kidding when I asked that. I found it weird that everything I do lately is connected to Clark. That everything I do has an impact on him. And what does Clark's future have to do with mine?
What have I gotten myself into?
"Please Jade?" he begged, pouting even though it wasn't the least bit cute. It was disturbing.
Should I really fall for this? It was Jesse. Nothing good comes from listening to him. Something happens every time.
I crossed my arms over my chest, "I'm not handling anymore interviews." I finalised and his smile stretched from ear to ear.

I was frowning the whole car ride with Jesse as the bloke talked his mouth off as if I were listening. I needed to get normal friends.
"Yes Jade. That's it. Thanks so much for listening." Jesse's sarcasm woke me up from a blank daydream.
I blinked at him, "What?"
He frowned at me briefly then focusing back on the road ahead of us, "You're paying zero attention to me.”
I rolled my eyes, "And you’re paying so much to me."
"I'm trying to be a good conversationalist here, but you're making it quite difficult.
"Can't you just...I dunno, shut up?"
He tsked, "You're mother wasn't like this when I spoke to her." he commented.
I rolled my eyes, "I'm adopted."
"Oh. That explains it then." he muttered, not even sounding the least bit sorry. What a bastard.
"Where are we going?" I changed the topic, "No offence but every time I'm with you or Clark, something happens."
He shrugged, "You should be grateful. Your life would be boring without us."
"It would be peaceful." I prodded.
"I love how gentle you are with your words Jade." he said sarcastically.
"I try." I stuck my tongue out at him like a child.
"I'd pull your tongue if I wasn't busy driving." he mumbled and my eyes widened.
He was just like Clark!
"You're disgusting. Just like your client." I grimaced, remembering the time Clark had pulled my tongue and I stuck it out. Ew.
"We're sort of like brothers." he grinned, "We're similar in a lot of ways."
"I'm sure Clark doesn't feel the same way."
I made sure not to mention Kiel. I'm not sure of it was okay. I have no idea if Jesse and the girl Kiel was in love with were together. I didn't want to ask because I'm sure I wouldn't care.
Jesse might think I'm interested in his life story and I don't want him thinking that. He'll probably annoy me into telling mine.
"Tammy and Ben called me this morning." Jesse informed me.
