[2nd String]
-Angst, Betrayal, and Hurt-
The town's event continued as if nothing happened. I mean, I guess they haven't realised whose presence was here just a few metres away from them.
I broke eye contact as soon as I felt the anger rise in me.
What the hell is he doing here?
I turned on my heels and went back to my post inside the square. My mom knew perfectly well what went down between me and Clark. So did Anne. They would understand my disrespect for turning my back on them. Besides, they knew how I would react.
I don't want to see Clark.
I just don't. Not today, not ever.

"Jade! Isn't that Clark? Oh my God! You didn't say he was performing! I should've brought my camera!" a girl whom I've never seen before squealed with excitement lighting up her face.
Performing?
"What? Who said that he'd be performing?" I question, my eyebrows furrowing. I didn't organise this event so they can witness a one-man show. Especially if it's Clark.
I organised this so that our people could get the chance to mingle with others.
"Oh come on Jade! This is a once in a lifetime experience!" another girl said. I recognise her as a schoolmate from Abbey. I didn't know her name either.
Somehow, only a few minutes had passed and every girl was around me, bugging me about letting Clark perform. It was annoying as hell listening to their whining.
Soon, more people came and even a few from the local media.
"CLARK! CLARK! CLARK! CLARK! CLARK!" people started chanting.
Damn it.
I close my eyes in frustration, thinking of a way to shut these people up. I open my eyes again and they accidentally met with Clark's light brown orbs. He stared at me questioningly, motioning towards the stage, asking if he should sing or not.
I was about to say no with an added glare when I felt the end of my shirt being tugged lightly.
I looked down to see Jane, a girl from the kindergarten I work part-time at. She had her friends behind her, "We want Clark." she said in a mumbled voice as she pouted.
I sighed, feeling resigned.
Even a 4-year old wants to hear him sing.
I shifted my gaze back to Clark and saw that he was still waiting for my answer. I sighed once more before I nodded, crushing my own pride.
He stared into my eyes deeply as I try to find the urge to look away. But I didn't. I felt something hot inside my chest at that moment. Whether it was because of anger, or sadness, I wasn't really sure.
All I know is that I'm not happy right now.
~~
Clark took the stage as he entertained the guests, responding to their pleas eagerly.
I've watched him perform before. On the telly at least. Right now, watching him singing to his heart's content, I felt a deep hole in my heart. Just like I did two years ago.
Clark was my best friend. He promised that he'd always be there for me.
So much for promises.
My phone rang again, disrupting me from unwanted memories. I checked the caller ID of the screen of my phone, only to be faced with my one and only hero. The only guy who I know that would never leave me.
