Valentine [Ayano x Budo]

Chapter 8 // Cut Short

Budo's POV
"I'm sorry."
"Budo please talk to me. Please."
"I'm going home." I said standing up
"Then I'm coming with you." she said holding my hand as we walked downstairs
"Woah, buddy, you okay?" Hayato asked
"Speak a word of this and It'll be the last words you ever utter from that sorry mouth of yours." Hayato crossed his heart and walked back in the kitchen. Me and Ayano both got changed and gathered our stuff.
"Wait here Budo." I nodded, "Sorry to cut it short Kokona, I'll see you tomorrow." Ayano hugged Kokona before returning to me
"Why don't you stay he-"
"No. Let's go." Ayano said grabbing my hand and walking me to my house. It was pretty much silent the entire walk. When we reached my house I gave her one final hug.
"Go home Ayano."
"But Budo."
"Go home." she nodded hesitantly and walked away. I unlocked my door and went in, looking in the mirror.
"Fucking idiot. Now she's worried." I sighed walking to my room and flopping down on my bed. I did nothing but think for a while, until I heard a knock at the door. I opened it and saw Ayano
"Ayano I told you-" she gave me my hat and kissed me on the cheek, walking away again. I closed the door and went to my bedroom before realising there was something inside. There was an open packet of cookies and cream biscuits and a note saying; Thanks for the ice cream cuto! -Ayano ps, sorry I ate a few, I got hungry on the way here x
Classic Ayano. And cuto? Is that meant to be Budo and Cute combined? She always knows how to make me smile. I laid down and pulled out my phone
Budo: Thanks for the snacks x
Ayano: No problem. Are you sure you don't want me there?
Budo: You're outside my house, aren't you?
"Not outside nope." she said sitting next to me showing her key
"Ayano please."
"Shh. No talking." she said hugging me again. I wanted to object, but at the same time I didn't. I had to stop it though, because the more she did this the more I fell in love with her, and at this rate I wasn't going to make it until Tuesday.
"You don't have to tell me what's wrong yet. But promise you will when the time is right."
"I'll tell you really soon, I promise. I just need some time."
"Good. I hate seeing you upset." she said wiping my eyes
"I just need some time to think." I said playing with her hair
"Okay, I'll be going now." she sat up, then to my surprise kissed me quickly, before pulling away quicker. "I.. Uh.. Bye Budo." she said
"You're not making this easy for me." I whispered falling backwards
"Did you say something?" she asked standing at my doorway
"Uh.. No. Bye Ayano." I smiled

Ayano's POV
Why did I do that? I'm such a fucking idiot. Something took over, but I don't regret it.
As I was leaving I was sure he said something.. But I don't know what. Budo had been acting really strange but he wouldn't tell me why. I was really worried about him, sure he'd been in bad moods before, but he's never cried like this before.
When I got home I got my phone straight out and messaged Budo.
Ayano: Hi
Budo: Hey
Ayano: I'm sorry about earlier
Budo: It's okay. Now we're even ;)
Ayano: Not really. Yours was a dare
Budo: I wouldn't say that
Ayano: ??
Budo: The dare was to play 7 minutes in heaven. The only requirement is that we had to stay in the closet for 7 minutes. I didn't have to kiss you. But anyway, I'm gonna get some milk for these cookies. Talk in a sec x
Ayano: Oh. Okay x

He didn't do it for the dare? Well that makes sense as to why Saki and Kokona kept irritating him. They must know I have feelings for him and are putting pressure on him. That's why he shouted I can't.
Or maybe he really does like me. I don't know.

Nobody's POV
Nor Ayano or Budo got much sleep that night. They just thought about what had happened. Budo thought of what he could do for Ayano on Valentines day, whereas she was thinking about Budo's feeling towards her.

Budo's POV
*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
Stupid alarm clock
Me and Ayano talked about random things last night before she went to sleep. Today we had to fight in the martial arts club, but I didn't know if that was possible. I couldn't fight her.
I got ready for school and styled my hair normally, wrapping my headband underneath. I grabbed my bento for lunch and started walking to school.
"Hi Budo."
"I'm not in the mood Hayato."
"I'm not here to make fun of you Budo. I'm your friend and I want to make sure you're okay."
"I'm fine."
"You don't look fine."
"Well I am."
"Then why are you clenching your fists?"
"Instincts."
"Look Budo, has something happened with Ayano?"
"No."
"Oh I get it."
"What?"
"Nothing happened with Ayano, that's the problem. You want something to happen."
"Exactly." I sighed
"Then why don't you do something?"
"Because I'm waiting for valentines day to confess."
"Aww that's so romantic!"
"Shut up. I don't think I can even make it to tomorrow."
"You like her that much?"
"Yeah man. Now I have to fight her in MA club. Which means I have to pin her down to the floor."
"Oh shit. Let her win?"
"Then she has to pin me down."
"Fuck.. Just imagine she's someone else."
"That's like asking me to pretend a cherry blossom tree is a cactus. I can't."
"Well good luck Bud. Ayano is waiting for you outside of school." Hayato pointed
"Shit. Well, how are you and Kokona?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Bullshit. You confessing tomorrow?"
"Yeah I am, I was going to make her some cupcakes since she's in the cooking club."
"I'm sure she'll love that. I'll see you later. Gotta go talk to Ayano."
"Good luck Budo."
I snuck up behind Ayano and wrapped my hands around her waist, resting my head on her shoulder
"Ohayo Budo." she smiled
"How did you know it was me?"
"Because you always hug me from behind."
"Oh. Well then. You ready for the fight?"
"Yep, let's go!"
