"They told us"

They told us to dress according,

Never to show skin,

Like it was a sin.

"SLUT. WHORE," they called us,

Since when did being confident become a bad thing?

"YOU'RE ONLY GOING TO ATTRACT THE WRONG CROWD," they said.

We didn't do it to attract anyone.

We did it because "FREEDOM, OUR RIGHTS, BREAKING GENDER STEREOTYPES,"

We are not "SLUTS" or " WHORES,"

There is more to us than the way we dress

The fact that women are sexualized as a whole is disgusting , I know men are too but the issue is more prevalent amongst us as females. No matter what you wear people will still hit on you, some older ( which could be classified as pedophilia in  some cases). It's not someone's fault if they dress a certain way and something bad happens to them, it's the perverted souls, not the victim. It is wrong to teach girls that if they dress a certain way, men will get the wrong idea, people will get the wrong idea either way

How about we teach the male population to not think of women in that way, don't tell me they can't control it yes they can. If we can do it they can too.

I personally cover up but that's my preference, I don't like showing that much skin. Guess what , I've been hit on a few times, I'm not the most attractive person but it wouldn't matter because people will not change until we teach them the right way

It's not OK to call someone a Slut or body shame them, because who are you to judge. You're no saint, you have as much imperfections as they  do.

What good do you gain by bringing others down, a huge ego?
No but seriously we need to think of this.

Sometimes it's inappropriate to dress certain ways for example; at work, religious places/ temples, school. We all need to mind our own business because if that person likes what they're wearing leave them alone, not everyone has the same values as you.

This is not meant to offend anyone and if you are sorry but I speak my mind.
