Mariah was smart, but she didn't know it. She was pretty too, but she didn't know that either. She thought there would never find a guy who would like her back.
Mariah had long, light brown hair and light blue eyes. She was about 5'6 and her body was toned. To some she might be considered pretty.
Mariah sighed as she fell back in to her bed. She knew she only had a few minutes of silence until all 4 of her little siblings got home. She had 3 brothers and 1 sister. Its hard enough being in 10th grade but it's even harder since her mom died a little over a year ago. Her dad works late so he's not home much, she is basically raising her siblings.
Mariah nearly fell onto the floor when she heard the front door slam. She soon heard her 8th grade little twin brothers, Miles and Mason fighting about Star Wars, this made her laugh. Shortly after she heard her 6th grade sister, Maddie yell at Mason for leaving his backpack on the floor after tripping over it for the 3rd time this week. Lastly, she heard her little 4th grade brother Matthew, she knew it was him because she heard the sponge bob theme song blaring from the TV downstairs.
Mariah walked down the stairs in to the kitchen. She pulled out 2 blue boxes of macaroni and cheese and started to make it.
After Mariah got all of her sibling to go to bed, she sat down and started reading one of her favourite books Paper Towns by, John Green. She'd read it 3 times already.
At about 10:36 p.m. She heard her dad quietly creep into the house. He whispered, "Mariah?" Mariah began to walk down the stairs to greet her dad. "Everyone's sleeping, we ate macaroni and cheese for dinner" Mariah said. "I'm sorry, I got home so late. Thank you for taking it into your own hands to take care of your little siblings" Mr. Landers said. He kissed Mariah on her forehead. "Good night Mariah" he said to her. "Goodnight dad" Mariah said with a slight smile on her face.
Mariah was tired after this normal Tuesday night. She turned off her lights, and fell fast asleep.
