(TW: homophobic slur; death)
Tyler's hand flew to his mouth, silent tears leaving wet tracks down his shocked features. He didn't mean it, he didn't want to hurt her. He was mad and upset, that's all. He didn't think anything would happen. He saw the lifeless girl in front of him and sobbed loudly into the empty apartment.

"I'm s-so sorry Debby..." He whispered as his best friend's girlfriend lay still at his feet. He wasn't sure how this happened to begin with.

Tyler crouched down to sit next to the body, trying make sense of the recent events. He had just spent the night with his best friend Josh while Debby was away on some kind of business trip. Once they had woken up Josh immediately had to leave for a meeting for some weird nerd club he had with a few friends and left an hour before Debby came home.

Debby Ryan walked into the house covered with hickeys and nursing a limp at 10 am. She knew about Josh's secretive club, but she didn't know a certain Tyler Joseph was waiting for Josh in the confined apartment. He saw the marks on her exposed skin and began to question her. The questions soon escalated to a screaming match and a slap to Tyler's face. Then all of a sudden the short blonde dropped to the floor. Dead.

Tyler clambered up to his feet, shaking intensely as he reached for his phone. He needed something or someone familiar to ease his breathing. He quickly thanked God that Josh always kept his ringer on and dialed the thoughtlessly familiar number.

"J-Josh?" Tyler questioned as the ringing stopped. His voice was small and coarse, much different than his usual tone.

"Hey Ty- wait, are you ok? You sound like you've been crying." Josh rushed as he sensed the change in mood. Tyler sobbed into the phone, not really knowing what to say, mumbling a ballad of 'I'm sorry's.

There was rustling and spoken goodbyes on the other end of the line while Tyler sat in the silent room. "I'm not gonna hang up Ty, I'm on my way. Can you please tell me what happened?" His voice was soft and gentle, as if he were talking to a wild animal or a scared child, and honestly Tyler didn't know which box he fit into.

Tyler's throat tightened before he sighed, "Debby came home an-and we got in a f-fight and the she just dropped and she's not breathing!" He shouted into the phone before another wave of sobs wracked his body. "Ty, did you touch her?" Josh asked slowly.

'What the hell?!' Tyler thought, 'his girlfriend is dead on the floor and he's prying for details?' Tyler reeled thinking back on his foggy memory, "No I-I didn't." He said with finality.

Josh let out a loud sigh and a dark chuckle, "Well I'm here and I guess I have some explaining to do." The phone line clicked. Tyler sat, tears filling silence of the lifeless apartment. His head whipped toward the door as the lock turned.

A very calm Josh Dun walked in and Tyler immediately bolted to him, clinging to his side as he sobbed into the pink haired boy's shirt. Josh stiffened before walking over to Debby, a shaking Tyler still attached to his side. "Sh, it's ok Ty." He muttered before checking the girls pulse. Not finding anything he gently pried Tyler off of him.

"Alright Ty, can you tell me what happened in detail? If what I think is going on is going on, I can bring her back." He said as he walked Tyler and himself to sit in the living room. Tyler was very scared and confused, but complied anyway.

"About an hour after you l-left I was making breakfast and D-Debby came home, but she... Oh god josh! She had hickeys and I lost it. I mean I tried to be civil, I-I tried to talk to her! But she started yelling, and I started yelling, then she slapped me and just dropped!" He said quickly. Josh looked shocked, but quickly concealed his hurt by asking another question. "Did you make any gestures toward her? Or think anything strange?" He seemed genuinely interested in the situation, which scared Tyler. He thought long and hard.

"No." He said wiping his nose on his sleeve. "Were you bleeding or crying?" Josh prodded, "Crying." He said looking down. Josh smiled, "Ok, let's fix her up!" He said as he stood, rubbing his hands together like a kid on Christmas. "You can't fix her Josh, she's dead and it's all my fault!" Tyler said following Josh toward the body.

"That is where you're wrong." Josh muttered as he knelt above Debby. He pressed his hands over her chest and pushed firmly. Tyler gasped as a gentle glow surrounded his hands. It was warm and made Tyler feel safe. Suddenly Debby shot into a sitting position, shock evident in her features.

Tyler stood in awe, unmoving. Josh helped Debby up before saying, "Debby, you passed out after your argument with Tyler. Speaking of which, I think I'm gonna follow your lead and see other people." Debby stood up embarrassed yelling, "I wouldn't wanna stay with a fag like you anyways." Before quickly exiting the apartment complex, speeding away in her car.

That left a smug Josh and a shocked Tyler. "Explain." Tyler whispered quietly. Josh walked over to him before giving him a long, tight hug. "Ok babe." Tyler blushed and furrowed his brows. Why a new nickname? His girlfriend literally just left. Tyler was beyond confused, what the hell is going on? Was this all some kind of dream? How the hell could his best friend since child hood revive a dead person? All Tyler could think about was Josh's mysterious 'club'.

They sat across from each other in the living room before Josh opened his mouth.

"To put it bluntly, we aren't completely human."
