Prologue

Have you ever thought to yourself, what would it be like to be invisible? Well let me tell you...you don't want to be.

My name is Misty Hemmings and I'm Luke Hemmings' younger sister. Surprised because you didn't know this? All family's have secrets but mine is...me.

I'm 16 years old and I've spent those years not existing to my family. I'm surprised I was even named but it's not like they call me by it. I'm called 'it' and 'she'. My brothers, Jack and Ben, ignore me but Luke doesn't and that's even worse than being ignored. He constantly calls me despicable things and hits me whenever he feels like it.

You're probably wondering why I don't run away, I do ask myself this. However, even though I'm treated like shit, I still have food and a roof over my head. That's one of the things Liz always shouts at me. I refuse to call her mum, no mum would do this.

My life is full of mystery and lies but I've always believed that the truth always has a way of revealing itself especially when you're least expecting it. When people say things happen for a reason, it's bullshit. If something happens it's because someone has chosen to do that action which, most of the time, snowballs into horrible consequences. I know this for a fact.
