The mirror stares back at me
showing me the truth
I see the fat on my hips
on my thighs
in my cheeks
I finally realize
that I don't just feel fat
I am
Tears stream down my cheeks
mouth open in a silent scream
I pull at the skin around my hips
scratch
slap
squeeze
hoping maybe it will disappear
But instead
it just gets raw
and red
I sink to the floor
defeated
I whisper
Fat
Ugly
Worthless
Sobs wrack my body
as I lay
curled by the mirror
Suddenly
a monster I'd never met before
rises inside of me
roaring
Before I know it
It has smashed the mirror
Glass sprays my face
covers the floor
But I can't see myself anymore
so I don't care
