"It must be cool to be famous enough to do a world tour, but not be constantly approached in public." Kyndall said. She was in a weird state of mind that day, feeling creative and curious. I loved her like that. She looked so happy when her mind was wondering.
"It's definitely a perk." I said. We reached the plane and easily found our seats. Kyndall and I sat directly in front of Tyler and Jenna. When I turned around, I saw that Jenna was already on her neck pillow trying to sleep. I hoped Kyndall would let me lean on her. She had taken the window seat.
"Oh my god... It's you!" I turned to the high, enthusiastic voice from the isle. It was a young girl, maybe 16. She was a fan. I smiled.
"Hi!" Tyler said with a smile.
"Oh my god, I don't know what I should say, your music means so much to me, you guys saved my life." She looked so happy and compassionate. I lived for moments like this.
"I'm glad to hear that, thank you so much for supporting us." I said. I could feel Kyndall watching me.
"Stay alive." Tyler said with a smile. I could tell those words meant the world to that girl as she scurried down the isle to her seat. Tyler and I smiled at each other before turning back around.
"That's... That's amazing." Kyndall said quietly. She stopped, but kept her mouth open a little like she was going to say more.
"I never knew you had that much influence."
"That's the point." Tyler started before i could speak.
"I like that a lot." Kyndall said thoughtfully.
"Alright ladies and gentlemen we are about to begin to taxi, please put on your seat belts and..." The pilot began to speak. Kyndall and I buckled at the same time.
"Josh, wanna know a secret." Kyndall whispered.
"What's up?"
"I haven't been in a plane since I was in middle school."
"Are you scared?" I asked. Before she could answer I grabbed her hand resting on the arm rest. We interlocked fingers as we approached the runway.
"A little bit," she said quietly.
"There's nothing to scared of, it'll be an easy flight, four and a half hours." I let my thumb rub circles on her hand. She pursed her lips again and nodded. As we took off, she closed her eyes and held a firm grip on my hand until the sound of the landing gear going up filled our ears and we started climbing smoothly. As she opened her eyes, I smiled at her.
We lied on each other and slept the whole flight.
--
"They lost my luggage?!" Kyndall looked at the woman working the desk like she was crazy. The woman lacked sympathy.
"We will call you if we find it." She was brushing Kyndall off, which I knew infuriated her. Kyndall let out an angry grunt then turned from the counter towards us.
"Which bag did you loose?" Tyler asked.
"Oh you, only half of my wardrobe!" She sat on the bench and put her face in her hands, then sighed in frustration.
"Hey, you still have your camera and your ukulele. You'll be okay. Well get you clothes." I sat down next to her and put my arm around her. She made e contact with me, then smiled a little.
"I guess there's really nothing I can do," she shrugged.
"Well, we've got a tour bus to catch." Jenna said, checking the time on her phone.
