The Big Race
The big race is really scary
Butterflies in my stomach
The race is starting
Only in a few minutes
Me in the front line
First to leave
I’m really scared
To be the first in line
How can that be a big deal?
When I know it’s nothing
Me the star of Biathlon
But I was still scared
The bell rang
Time to go
Jump on my feet
And start racing
I forgot about everybody
Made my on world
And be the fastest one
Only for that race
Nothing was in my way
I was the first
Someone yelled TRACK
I moved faster
Trying to put a distance
Between that person and I
I was still the first one
Hopefully will be until the end of the race
But as someone past me
I was mad so in push as hard as I could
My heart racing more then it’s used to
My lungs asking for air….nothing made me stop
I was behind that dude who past me earlier
Was mad at him
So I yelled TRACK and past him
I was glad because I was the first again
My heart asking me to stop
I looked in front of me
And at my surprise
I’m already at the finish line
