Lucy's P.O.V

I sat looking at the note I got in the mail! I'm going to see the Ballingers perform! Are you freaking kidding me?

"Laur, I wish you could come with me," I tell her. She's my best friend. I don't know what I'd do without her, well I'd probably be a lot angrier all the time.

"I wish I could take you with me too!" She whines. It suc...
Hold the hay... We're both going on the same day, to the same place to see the same exact show!

"Ahhhhh!" I squealed. Laur seemed shocked at my sudden outburst.

"Lu, you okay?" Laur asks me. She obviously hasn't noticed what I have.

"Laur! We. Are. Going. To. Meet!" I say slowly still trying to comprehend what I'm saying.

"Oh my! We are! For the first time!" Laur jumps on the spot.

Laur and I had finished our FaceTime as I had more pressing issues at hand... Like trying to get Rosa (my annoying, old, rude, buttface foster carer that I can't escape from) to let me go to the show.

"Hey, Rosa..." I call in the sweetest voice I can muster.

"Yes," I hear her say. She's sitting on the couch with her cat Kitty (dumb name I know! And she doesn't let me call him 'mine'. She says she bought him so he's all hers) and knitting some blanket or jumper.

"I received this in the mail and I'd like to ask your permission to go," I say smiling and carefully choosing my words. Rosa doesn't normally let me do things like this, or go anywhere really so I'm seriously praying she lets me go.

"Hmmm," Rosa says reading the note after I had passed it to her. Her eyebrows quirked, I didn't know whether it's a good quirk or a 'no way Jose!' quirk.

"May I ask your opinion?" I ask her politely. She likes me to act like a lady which I am the exact opposite of, Rosa doesn't need to know that though.

"Is anyone else going?" She asks. I can tell she doesn't like the idea of me going by myself.

"Yes, a friend of mine from school," I lie.

"Her name?"

"Priscilla," I fib.

"What's her favourite school subject?" Rosa asks judgementally.

"Modern History and Visual Arts," I tell her knowing Rosa likes those two things in particular.

"Sounds like a wonderful young lady," Rosa says. I'm hoping this means she'll let me go with 'Priscilla'.

"May I go?" I ask sweetly.

"Once I see that it's a safe environment,"

"Of course," I affirm.

"Alright then, I'll have to call Priscilla's parents to finalise transport," Rosa says. Crap! Priscilla doesn't exist so neither do her parents, how the hay am I gonna pull this off?

"Sure, would you like to talk to them now?" I ask. What the hell Lucy?! Do you realise what you've just gotten yourself into?

"Yes," Rosa agrees. Crap!

I'm so screwed!

Or I could just...

-----

"Hello, this is Rosa Delaney," Rosa said into the phone.

"Yolanda Yellows, Priscilla's mother," Laur said in a fake British accent. She was actually really good at it and if you didn't know she was Aussie you'd think she was English.

"Lucinda has told me about a trip to Canberra," Rosa tells 'Yolanda'. She uses my full name, I hate when she calls me Lucinda. The only person who has permission to call me that is Laur.

"Yes, my Priscilla has told me about this. I have checked the venue as a good parent should and there is security surrounding it. It's the safest theatre in Canberra," Laur lies. We have no idea if there is even security or not. Laur is just making up stuff as she goes.

"Wonderful then," Rosa says.

"I must go. I have a cake baking at the current moment," Laur says trying to end the phone call.

"Thankyou," Rosa says and hangs up.

"Do I have permission to go?" I ask. Rosa looks at her knitting then at me.

"I suppose so," She says. I contain my excitement even though I'm nearly bursting with it.

"Thankyou Rosa," I say heading back into my room. I open up Instagram and message Laur.

Lucy: Laur! I'm comin 2 Canberra w/ u

Laur replied quickly.

Laur: OMG! Can't wait. Trevor said it's all g

Lucy: Talk 2 u tomorrow

Laur: K! Bye

Lucy: Bye

-----

I shut my eyes ready to sleep. I'm not sure if I'll be able to sleep though. My excitement is so crazy right now that my eyes want to spring back open.

I hold them shut and start thinking. Thinking about how amazing it's going to be to meet Lauren for the first time and give her a massive hug that nearly knocks us both over. I'm also just so amazed at the fact that out of over 15 million people only Laur and I were picked to be flown for free to Canberra at the same time so that we could not only see the Ballingers perform but also meet them. I am literally living any Ballinger fan's dream!

Laur and I 'met' each other about 2 or 3 years ago. We met when we both created fan pages. Mine was for Joshleen and Laur's was for Rachel. We both really love Rachel, almost more than the rest of the family. There's just something about her that we really both liked. We also really love how down to earth she is, how down to Earth the whole family is. It's like getting a hug from a teddy bear when you watch their videos.

-----

I wake up and look at my iPad which says 6:14AM. I've always woken up early. When I was younger and in a group home I used to have nightmares so I'd wake up early and that way it wouldn't last as long. Being 8 years older than I was before I know don't have super scary night mares every time I sleep but I physically can't sleep in as my body is ready to go at like, 6.
