Aisha huffed the last steps up to the third floor of the apartment complex. She placed the box on the floor for a minute trying to catch her breath and wipe the sweat form her brow. She tried the to ignore the sweat she could feel making its way down her back. She grabbed the box and took the hallway to her small family's new home.

The door was slightly ajar, she opened it some more with her foot and quickly made her way to the room she would be sharing with her little sister. She looked at all the boxes on the floor, it would take a few days to settle in completely she guessed. She rolled her shoulders trying to loosen up the knots, she didn't really remember how many trips she had made up and down those stairs.

She walked out of the room into the small hallway and leaned her head into the third room that was her great aunts room. Her sister was sitting on the bed eating a sandwich watching their Great aunt order their uncle around.

"Not there....place it three steps to your right...what a waste...honestly if I was younger I would have ran circles around all of you," She yelled brandishing her cane.

Aisha sighed, it was hard to believe that this was someone who had a heart surgery a month ago. It had been her uncles idea to have their great aunt live with them. He had been a little more than enraged when she had said she wanted to raise the kids on her own.

"Having an adult in the house helps....no matter how old or feeble. It would do her some good to have company and all of you as well," were the words he had spoken closing their argument as he had walked out of the living room of her family's home.

Aisha walked into the room some more, deciding to rescue her uncle.

"Aunty, do you want something to eat?" she asked as she moved toward her uncle placing a hand on his shoulder.

"I'll do this, I think there are two more boxes left in the truck," she said giving him a smile.

Relief washed across his face.

"Ya ...I'll go get those boxes, Where is Musa ?" he asked as he walked out.

"In his room," chirped her little sister taking another small bite from her sandwich.

Aisha glanced at her for a second with a frown.

"Why are you still eating? You should have been done by now," she said in a very motherly tone.

Misky shrugged her shoulders.

"Leave the girl alone, and fix that night stand," demanded her Aunt.

Aisha sighed and moved the night stand close to the bed, yet far enough that the old lady wouldn't bump against it in the night, if she needed to get up.

"Is that good?" she asked knowing she wouldn't really get a reply back.

"Humph, I want a sandwich too," she said in such a childish manner that Aisha found her self smiling.

"Sure," she replied walking out and making her way to the small kitchen.

It had taken a while for them to find a new place. He uncle didn't want them to move too far away from what was familiar, yet Aisha wanted a place closer to the city, and they had both agreed on finding a safe neighborhood. Thankfully, everything became much smoother when they found an apartment in this apartment complex. She could get to the city as fast as twenty minutes plus they could remain within the community they grew up in.

They had found a family of four who were interested in the house right away. The Jackson family as they called themselves, had agreed to pay a rent of $3,500 a month which was more than she had imagined. All she had to do was pay $700 for the rent of the apartment she moved into. Such a huge difference that it left her breathless sometimes.
