Hello everyone! Full disclaimer, this is the first girlxgirl story that I have ever written. It was a lot of fun to write this chapter though and it did help with the insane writer's block that I've been experiencing. Special thanks to R-y-u-u-t-o-s-h-i for designing my cover for this story ^u^ it's amazing! Anywho, I hope you all enjoy it don't forget to vote and leave comments!!

Nothing could have prepared me for the moment when everything I thought I knew collapsed. Rain drops, heavy and frigid, collided with my pale flesh. They mingled with my tears and weighed down the wavy raven locks of my long hair. Soaked tendrils lay against my skin. The uncomfortable sensation muted by my need to get away. I struggled not to faint as I ran even as darkness caressed the edges of my vision. I paid no attention to the people that wondered through the streets, huddled beneath their umbrellas to shield themselves from the rain, as they browsed the windows of the shops.
Everything around me seemed so calm. I was the chaos. That unrelenting buzz that gnawed at the peace within the silence. Never in my short life have I felt like this much of an outsider.
It didn't even register that I punched in the short code to open the gate until I was half slipping across the slick lush grass in my mad dash to the front door. No doubt my mother would be pissed about her flowers in the morning.
Right now, I couldn't care less.
My primary focus was locking myself away from the world. Somehow I thought that it would make what happened seem less real. I closed the heavy door, my palms flat against the cool surface as water dripped onto the light colored marble floor of the foyer.
"What?" The whisper left my chilled lips carrying with it all of the disbelief and confusion that plagued me.
Held in my unfocused eyes was the memory of what happened. It was so quick. A subtle flash of that sly grin. The sheer amount of confidence that radiated from her as she sauntered with ease down the abandoned path of the park. The soft tenor of her voice as she spoke and the sensation of supple lips against mine that had the faintest hint of vanilla. When it happened, it seemed to take a lifetime but thinking on it now, it took a few seconds.
A steady pulse of vibrations from my pocket snapped me from my downward spiral of assessment. I snatched the phone from its place and after several failed attempts to slide my damp fingers across the screen, finally brought it to my ear.
"Hello." I couldn't help the wince. My voice was just a pitch higher than usual. So much for trying to sound normal.
"Annah, what the hell. Did you forget to call me?"
I kicked off my shoes, running my fingers through my hair in mild annoyance. I loved Courtney, really I did, but she could be a bit abrasive.
"Yeah, sorry. I didn't think that it would take so long. How was the study session?"
I knew why she was calling but I didn't want to talk about it. Not with her, and not right now. Truth of the matter was that I wasn't sure how I let it get so far.
"Em is awesome, but he's not my type. He has that goofy grin like my brother. I just can't." She paused, shuffling before settling in again. "Now tell me how this bet is coming along. I need to know I'm not going to be out a hundred bucks just because you decided to be nice to the freak."
"She's not a freak Court. Geez."
"Whatever. Freak. Dike. Lez. I don't care what you wanna call her. It doesn't change what she is."
