One Piece - The Lightning Pirates (Beginning)

The Beginning of the Beginning

'' You should've seen him!'' said Leo ecstatically.

   Leo continued to ramble on about his favorite moment in life. He does this almost every time he gets together with his friends.

''We know what happens next Leo'' said Leo's close friend Rintaro.

''Buggy the Clown gets zapped by lightning, therefore preventing the death of your beloved hero, Monkey D. Luffy'' Rintaro explained.

   Rintaro said this in a very sickening voice as he and his friends have heard the story countless times.

   At around midnight Leo and Rintaro departed from the rest of their group as they lived in different parts of Loguetown. As they walked down the street to their neighborhood, Leo started talking.

''Want to travel the seas with me Rintaro?'' Leo asked suddenly.

''Wow wow wow, why ask now all of a sudden?'' he asked.

''I'm sick of just sitting here and admiring my hero when I can go out there and go meet him myself, you know?'' said Leo.

But, you know that event you are always talking about? Yeah, that happened 10 years ago! 10 years! The Straw Hat Pirates could be anywhere in the world! stated Rintaro.

''I guess you're right, never mind haha'' said Leo.

Rintaro noticed that Leo looked a bit disappointed.

''Hey, we'll start a pirate crew when we are older, what do you say? When we are about, I don't know, 30?'' Rintaro suggested.

Yeah, sure! It's a bit far away but it's something. ''chuckled Leo.

   Leo still seemed a bit depressed.

   Suddenly, Leo and Rintaro encounter a couple of thugs once they went around the corner. The thugs were pirates. The 2 men shifted their heads into the direction of the 2 lads.

''What are you looking at mate?'' said the chubby pirate.

''Yeah, what?'' added the smaller pirate.

   Leo analysed the situation further. He then noticed a girl right right behind them. She had long dark purple hair, and was wearing a dark green colored robe over her.

''Yo, what are you doing with that girl?'' Leo asked.

''What's it to you, kid? Now scurry off!'' said the smaller pirate.

''How about no''  Leo replied firmly.

The pirate unsheathed his cutlass from the scabbard on his left hip and started to charge Leo, attempting to take his life. Leo calmly put on his sky blue colored headphones and started to walk up to the charging criminal.

''Trace, successful'' he says.

     A couple milliseconds after he says that, almost instantaneously, blue light appeared from his right hand. In place of the light, the same exact cutlass that the pirate was holding was in Leo's hands, but it was a tad bit shinier and looked a lot more cleaner.

   The pirate stopped his onslaught. There in the middle of the alleyway, he stood frozen.
