"Hi," I simply say, twisting and turning on my bed.
"Hey," he says, my ears being filled with the raspy tiredness in his voice.
"Do you want to talk about how you feel?" I ask curiously.
"The story is simple she cheated, I did the same," he explains and I can almost see him shrug.
"That's the story, not how you feel," I correct him.
"How I feel? Like shit. Who the hell cheats on me?" he asks, his voice raising.
"And how am I supposed to answer that question? And I know you don't feel like shit because she cheated on you."
"I know but I don't want to talk about it," he retorts.
"Calm down over there," I advise in a serious but joking way.
It's silent. The only thing now filling my ears is Justin's breathing.
I clear my throat to speak up again. "How was picking up your parents?" I ask, creating new conversation.
"It was fine, busy at LAX as always," he says.
"Are they staying with you or at a hotel?" I ask, not really concerned.
"With me, my mama wants to be with me at all times," he says a little annoyed.
"That's cute though."
"Is it really?" He chuckles.
"I think so."
"You want to know what I think?"
"Hm?"
"I think you're cute," he says through a breath.
A yawn escapes my lips most likely also making it's way into Justin's ear.
His chuckle is heard and I feel myself turn a slight shade of red from embarrassment. "Sweet dreams Selena, goodnight." Then the phone call ended before I can even wish a goodnight as well.
