Forbidden: -Chapter Three// Emilia
My heart dropped at the presence of Reece and hearing his voice.
My heart somersaulted in my rib cage, as if it was about to leap out of my throat.
I wasn't ready for all of this. First, a step brother who I am forced to see every single day, and then him.
I ran to the door as fast as I could, barging Reece's shoulder in the motion.
As I got to the door I took a deep breath and gulped the remnants of the granola bar in my mouth. My palms began to sweat and my body started shaking uncontrollably.
I slowly opened the barrier between us to find him standing in front of me.
He had gotten a haircut and I was trying so hard to not fall into his arms. His hazel eyes glistened as he looked at me, and I instantly felt hypnotised.
He was wearing a light grey V neck shirt and black ripped jeans with combat boots. He looked absolutely delicious."Kit-Kat."
My closed as he cooed the name that he had called me ever since second grade and I felt as if I was on the verge of tears.
I bit my lip to try and reduce the possibility of me crying, "How did you find me?"
He chuckled, making his right dimple visible. That was one of the things that had made me fall head over heels for him. "That's how you welcome me?"
I rolled me eyes, "I have every right to welcome you coldly. You left me cold heartedly so do not ever question me."
He nodded, "I'm trying to apologise."
I looked him dead in the eye, clenching my jaw to stop myself from trembling under him, "But I haven't heard one sorry leave your lips. You're not trying at all."
"I'm here aren't I?"
I didn't have time for him. I began to close the door to create the barrier between us again.
He placed his foot on the door to stop it from closing. "Please let me talk to you."I opened the door again and rolled my eyes, "I'll pass. The last time we talked, you broke my heart."
And with that, I forcefully closed the door on him.
It felt good.
All of those sleepless nights thinking about him, and how he hurt me so badly, for him to turn up at my door and think that I'd forget everything and it would be okay? Not a chance. I was not risking him ruining my new life.
I would never forget the amount of tears I shed over him, and how much of my time I had spent thinking that he was the perfect guy.Nobody was perfect, but for him to treat me like that was another thing entirely.
He was the worst thing that had ever happened to me, and I'd never forgive him for any of it.
*~*~*
"Reece, we're going to be late, hurry up!"
I had been waiting patiently at the door for over ten minutes for him to get ready.
School started in half an hour and I wasn't trying to be late on my first day.
He ran down the stairs, with a black backpack clinging onto his shoulder.
"What did you say?" He removed an earphone from his ear.
"That we are going to be late?"
He chuckled, "We?"
