Visiting Hour

~Chapter 11~

The next morning, i woke up with pain in my leg. "Auw..." Rider directly woke up. "Are you okay? Did i hurt you?" He asked worried. "No... You didn't. It's just my leg." "That's because you're out of medicines." The doctor said while coming in. "Oh am i ruining something?" He winked. "No, you aren't..." I said. "Well, to be honest, you are." Rider laughed. "Am i ruining it by saying you can leave the hospital?" He smiled. "You are..." Rider said. "That's weird, most of the time patients are happy to leave?" "It's just... Rider has to stay for his mom,who has cancer and i was always visiting him while visting my grandpa. My grandpa was about to leave and well, i got hurt an-" "Wow... So that means you really have to leave then." The doctor said. I saw Rider looking upset. "I don't want her to leave... I just wish she could stay longer." "Rider, i'm not really leaving. I can come here with the bus." "I know, but it's not the same. I won't see you every day..." "I'm really sorry about that. But i can't let you stay any longer..." The doctor said. "I understand, doctor..." "You can pack your stuff any time but you can't stay a day longer..." "We understand..." I said. The doctor smiled and walked out off the room. "C'mon, let's get ready to eat some cake with Jake and Scarlett, shall we?" I said. "Fine..." We stood up and got dressed. "Can you walk with your leg?" Rider asked worried. "Yeah, it's not like i broke it." I rolled with my eyes. We left the room and walked towards the elevator.

We sat down at a table near the window. There were quite a lot people, but the old woman wasn't there. I was thinking about her, maybe i should visit her before leaving the hospital. Rider was really quiet, he didn't say a thing since we sat down. He just stared at the table. "Rider... I'm not really leaving. Don't be a grumpy." I said. "I'm not grumpy..." "Yeah, you are, mister grumpy freak." "I just wanna have fun with you every day. I wanna see you every day, i wanna laugh with you every day, i wanna kiss you every day... I just want you every day." "You know, you will never lose me." "Do you promise that?" "Ofcourse i do." "Alright, but i just wanna remind you of it." He gave me a promise ring, it was a silver ring. Inside the ring was a quote. It said: 'Togheter forever,never apart'  While his ring said: 'Maybe in distance, but never in  heart.'  "Oh my god, this is beautiful, Rider!" I said happily. "I just want you to keep our promise." He smiled. "I will!" I hugged him over the table. "We're ruining the moment,Jake. Let's get going!" Scarlett laughed. "Hi guys!" I was so happy about that whole 'promise' thing, that everything i said sounded happy. "Oehhh! Shiny!" Scarlett said while holding my finger. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" I smirked at Rider and  he  winked at me. "Awww!" Jake teased Rider. "Shut up you!" Rider laughed. "Let's get cake instead of you teasing me." Rider said to Jake. "Whatever you say." Jake joked. While they got cake, me and Scarlett we're talking. "I want a ring like that! I'm so jealous!" "Some day,you will." I smiled. "Maybe from Jake..." I joked. "What? No! Ew!" "Children... So innocent..." I smirked. "No!" She screamed. "Now, you don't know what you want, but later you will." "Whatever." She rolled her eyes. "I wanted to ask you something, Scarlett." "Sure, what is it?" "Why are you here?" "You mean at the hospital?" "Yeah." "Nothing serious, we had some kind of virus but we're recovering now." "Oh, that's good!" "Yeah... Oh my god, CAKE!" She screamed. "Here you go." Rider smiled. "I hope it isn't as bad as the cheese sandwiches." I laughed. "Oh my god, i forgot about that! Now, i am not so sure about that cake anymore... You ruined it!" Rider joked. "Let's just eat." I rolled my eyes. Surprising, the cake was delicious. "Yum!" Jake said.

I loved moments like this. Just friends around you. Having fun and not thinking about the hospital for a moment. I can't believe i will experience these moments not anymore. I mean, even though i will come back, i won't come every day. Scarlett and Jake will also leave very soon... "We will stay friends,right?" Scarlett asked nervously. "What a dumb question,Scarlett." Jake laughed. "It doesn't mean that if we will all leave, we won't stay friends. We can hang out any time!" I said. "How? We don't have phones like you two do." "We can do it on the old fashioned way. We can write letters!" "Good idea!" Jake said. "Good thinking,freak." Rider smiled. When we finished the cake, i saw the old woman looking for a drink. "I will be right back." I said. I stood up and walked towards the old woman. "Can i buy you something?" I smiled. The woman turned and faced me. "Oh! Hello! What are you doing here?" She asked. "I just wanted to say goodbye." I smiled. "Goodbye?" She asked confused. "Well it's not really a 'goodbye' though. I will be leaving the hospital but i will visit you and Rider a few times!" I said. "Oh, who's Rider?" She winked. "My boyfriend. He's over there." I pointed at him. Rider,Jake and Scarlett were laughing. "He looks cute! And so do the children! Are they yours?" She joked. "No!" I laughed. "They are here for recovery. We met at the elevator." I said. "That's nice." "Anyway, i need to go back to those freaks." I smiled at them. "That's okay. Here is my room number." She gave me a little paper with the room number and the floor. "I will visit you some day." I smiled. "Can't wait." She smiled. I walked back to the table. "Who was that?" Rider asked. "Just a friendly woman..." "Wait, is that sausage lady?" "Sausage lady?" I laughed. "Yeah! She saved our lifes with the sausage sandwiches. Hey lady!" Rider yelled. The woman turned and looked with wide eyes. "Thank you for the sausage sanwiches!" Rider yelled. The woman laughed and winked and turned back. "So embarrasing..." I laughed. "Well, i'm your boyfriend so that makes you also embarrasing." He smirked. I rolled my eyes. "Yeah yeah." I laughed. He kissed me softly. "Ewww!" Jake screamed. "Well, take a look because some day it will be you." Rider winked. "Not in a billion years!" "We will see about that." Rider smiled.
