"I'm impressed. I bet Queen Elizabeth herself would be jealous." I joked.
Kiel laughed, "I can help anyone with the clothing but I've only ever helped one person with their feet. Aside from you, of course."
"Really? Who?" I asked, peering up at him curiously.
He smiled gently, "The girl I love."
I felt slightly special because he did this for me even though we just met and the only other person he did this for was the person he deeply cares about. Plus, he told me without even a pause or a second of hesitation.
But even if he's not saying anything, I can tell there’s something bothering him.
"Why do you look sad?" I inquired.
He looked taken aback. Surely, he wasn't expecting me to ask that because he was smiling at me.
I can tell when people fake smiles. I don’t know how but I just do. Maybe it’s because I've experienced it myself.
He once again gave me a smile. This time, it wasn't a forced smile but I could tell it wasn't a happy smile either.
He roamed his eyes around the shop while he spoke, "She loves dressing up, you know? She was a real girly girl."
I set my eyes to where his were directed at and I saw a dress hanging on the door that led to the main shop. It was a simple but breathtaking dress. It was sea blue and its design wasn't as complicated as the other dresses in here. I could tell it was special to him.
"She was my best friend." he looked back at me, not a hint of a smile on his face. Rather, it was an expression of complete understanding.
I then noticed how he said the word 'best friend'.
"Is..." I hesitated a bit but continued eventually, "Is she also a celebrity?" I asked, biting my lip.
He shook his head, "No." he sat down beside me and gave me a pat on the head, "But she was in love with one." he said, forcing a smile yet again, "His name is Jesse Reed."
I was shock beyond belief. Jesse? The girl Kiel is in love with was in love with Jesse? The idiot who has a brain the size of an ant?
I huffed, "Well that’s unfortunate." I commented, still finding it hard to believe. That girl must be dumb. Then again, I shouldn't judge since I also like an airhead.
"It really is." Kiel answered, laughing lightly, "He's my brother."
My head snapped to him so fast I almost got a whiplash. I did not see that coming.
"Jesse’s your brother?!" I questioned, disbelief, shock, and pity in my voice.
Well that doubles the unfortunate. I feel so sorry for him that he had to live in the same house as Jesse.
He smiled bitterly, "He likes her but he found out that I was in love with her so he avoided her."
I tilted my head to the side, "What’s so bad about that? He definitely chose your happiness before his."
Kiel nodded, "He did. But when he chose my happiness, it took away not only his happiness, but also hers. I couldn't handle being the bad guy, you know?"
"But you're not bad." I shook my head to show my disagreement.
"Thanks Jade." he pinched my cheek and my hand automatically slapped his. He laughed, "I know I'm not bad but it felt like I was. My love and my brother were both sad and I couldn't stand that I was the cause of it."
