"What? No! Ew. I would never hook up with Clark. Nah-uh. Not in a million years." I managed to rush out.
When he didn’t respond, I looked at his reflection which showed amusement, "You're not really good at lying." he smiled.
I winced, "Tss. Of course you'd be smarter." I muttered begrudgingly under my breath.
"Who are you comparing me with?" he asked curiously and dare I say it--
"Clark and Jesse." Oh. I said the cursed names.
"The bickering old couple?" he laughed.
I smiled to myself. 'The bickering old couple'? They did argue like an old married couple. And I don't even know if I would be comfortable with that or not.
"I can see their stupid-ness hasn't rubbed off on you...yet." I added with a snicker.
"That’s why I'm avoiding them as much as I can." Kiel's reflection winked at me.
A few minutes later, Kiel had finished my hair and swiveled the office chair (which I guess was his) I was sitting on and inspected my face.
I rolled my eyes, "No need to debate on what to do with my face." I frowned, "Okay, that sounded awfully wrong. Anyway, it's only dinner. Besides, everyone's attention will be on the hair freak. I'm only there for the food."
"Hair freak, huh." he chuckled.
"I’m sure you know how important his hair is to him."
"Ah. Yes, yes. I think he hates it when I touch it for too long."
"You think?" my eyes narrowed in incredulity. This dude's observation skills seriously suck. I'll never understand people.

By the time Kiel was finished with my make-up, I was practically starving. I haven't eaten in four hours. People should really keep in mind not to keep me from my food. It’s not a pretty picture.
"Would you please be quiet?" Kiel begged for the tenth time, "I can't concentrate with you blabbering all the time."
I pouted, "You sound like Clark."
He shrugged, "Keep still would you?"
I crossed my arms, "You’re working too slowly!" I protested.
"Patience, my dear. You can't rush perfection."
I rolled my eyes, "It’s only shoes!"
He tsked, "Shoes are an important part of life. It takes you to a lot of places."
"If I wanted to travel, I’d wear combat boots or Chuck’s." I sighed, "Heels will be the death of me." I said, eyeing the deadly little monsters with a disapproving glare.
"Done!" Kiel beamed, "Never have I been so proud at my foot making magic." he complimented himself.
"I can see that you're proud and all but I feel quite uncomfortable..." I exclaimed quietly.
"Don't worry. You'll get used to it an hour into the night." he assured me.
"Oh no," I shook my head, "I’m not talking about the heels. I meant the 'foot making magic' thing. I’m pretty sure my foot has been made along with the rest of my body when I was born."
He rolled his eyes, "Ha-ha."
I snickered at my own joke. I lifted my feet up and smiled happily at Kiel's work. It looked great. Well, it looked great before but it looked quite radiant now.
