Addison's first day of classes at Stanford hadn't gone all that bad. After all, Pre-Med students have a tendency of being quite self-involved and serious. Once at the campus, Kurt headed for the opposite direction than her and Nathan followed slightly behind her.

“Can I help you with something?” She turned her head and asked him.

“Nah, I'm just heading to class.” He stated simply. Addison gave him a confused look. “I'm giving lectures for the law students in the next building over.” He said as they entered the same auditorium. He sat beside her and smiled. “I guess we'll be seeing a bit more of each other this week, huh?”

“I never thought that the police would send someone like you to give lectures.” Addison told him. “A hot face for the force? Where do I sign up?” She never realized what she said until it was already said. She blushed ten shades of red. Nathan laughed.

“All about putting a face on the force.” He explained. “But then again, look at you Doctor Addison. If I were a kid, I’d definitely be getting myself hurt more often.” Addison leaned over in his direction and smiled shyly. He seriously never ceased to amaze her and it's only been four days since her arrival. He was quite the charmer.

“Listen, about last night...” She began. Seeing as she knew she'd be seeing a lot more of Officer Nate, in the week to come at least, she figured that they'd most likely end up as friends more than anything else; despite the kiss. She knew how challenging this scope of study could be and it does take over your life when school's in session so she knew that this would be a great friendship due to the lack of time to develop anything else. Nathan just reminded her of that when he called her Doctor. At that moment, Nathan got up to leave her as her professor walked in.

Nathan was glad that he'd get to see Addison that much more for that week. They had met up, under a shady palm, with Kurt for lunch.

“Are we on for tonight?” Kurt checked up with Nathan. Nathan didn't look like he was all that interested.

“I don't know man. I think I might want to just veg and get to bed early.” He told his best friend.

“You're not bailing on me tonight bro!” He announced. Addison looked intrigued and sat there, in silence listening to the conversation.

“Lara and Stephanie should be there.” Kurt announced thinking that it might just sway Nathan into going. “I saw Lara earlier and she was asking about you.” Addison's curiosity seemed peaked when she heard of a Lara and Stephanie, especially when Nathan blushed lightly and behaved slightly embarrassed.

“So what's with tonight?” Addison inquired. Kurt looked at her and smiled.

“Well, we had plans to check out this band at this club tonight seeing as it's one of our favorite covers and Mr. Nate here is flaking out on me...”

“I'm not flaking out.” Nathan disagreed. Addison gave him a teasing look.

“Why don't you go? It's not like your job is that demanding tomorrow. You're not having to chase criminals around.” She tried to assure him. “After all, it seems like Lara and Stephanie would appreciate your showing up.” Nathan looked at her in shock.

“There we go! We have it settled.” Kurt exclaimed. “Addie, I love you! Nate, it's set! You're going, you're gonna enjoy it and hell, we'll finally get you some!” Nathan flashed Kurt a fiery look and looked down but not before noticing that Addison started getting up to walk away. Great! Now you’ve done it Kurt. Nathan cursed him silently.

“Where are you going?” Nathan asked her.

“I just have to...” She began but only came up with. “washroom.” She gave him a slight nervous smile.

Now that was a new side of Nathan that she never expected to see. She couldn't help but notice the slight tinge of jealousy that overcame her. She found her way to the washrooms only to realize that it was a pointless trip. It's not like I can date this guy anyway with this whole Carter thing. We'd be better off as friends. There's too much going on with school, and well, life. Argghhh! What life!!!???!!! I have none. Who would have thought that a cop wouldn’t be a player anyway? Serves me right. She was rationalizing with herself.

School was over for the day and Addison was nervous about meeting up with the guys at Nathan's car. She didn’t rush and she even chose to ride in the back this time around.

“You should come too.” Kurt tried to convince her about the club.

“We'll see.” She told him and noticed Nathan looking at her through the rear-view mirror.

Nathan’s mind flashed back to when he was driving Addison, Kurt and himself home earlier that day and the look she had on her face shortly after Kurt invited her out tonight. He was wondering what was going through that pretty little head of hers. If he didn’t know better, she seemed somewhat jealous of the fact that he had more than his fair share of women pining after him. He figured he shouldn't have to explain himself to her for what he’s done in the past. But why did he feel ashamed? He shrugged the thoughts out of his mind and changed into a pair of dark washed jeans and a white fitted button down shirt; took a look in his mirror, smiled his charming smile and found himself trying to decide which one of the girls he was taking home that night. If I take one home at all. Addison flashed into his thoughts.

Addison had found herself sitting on her couch, reading from one of her textbooks and realized that it was pointless. She couldn’t concentrate. She marked her page and shut the book and moved it to the side. She got up to get a drink of water. That didn't soothe the thoughts that were constantly rolling around in her head. She paced the hallway on the main floor and her mind couldn’t block the thoughts she was having about Nathan. She decided that perhaps she should go out tonight. Maybe tonight was what she needed; to see what kind of guy Nathan was. That should surely clear up the whole player versus nice guy personalities that plagued her. Sure, he's been sweet and considerate but so are guys that just want in my pants. She remembered about past experiences. This would be the event that answered the lingering question of friends or more. Can I really be thinking about more than friends right now? She asked herself. Despite Carter and the attack, she couldn't help but dream about a day where she'd be able to be with someone else; to trust someone of the opposite sex completely again. She headed upstairs to her room to get ready. She could use a few celebratory drinks to end her first day. Who knows how many more times where she’ll have the opportunity to get out for a night of fun this year. She proceeded to get changed into a pair of dark skinny jeans, black heals and a silk black halter top that revealed most of her shoulders and back. She let her hair down, fall to the middle of her back and freshened up her makeup. Ready or not. She thought and headed down to the cab she had called for herself.

She arrived at The Whiskey only to find two overly done up girls hanging off of both Nathan's arms, by one end of the bar. I guess that’s Lara and Stephanie. She thought bitterly. The redhead kissed him on the neck. Kurt looked like he was having a drunken old time trying to get a girl to give him the time of day. She walked on up to the bar and ordered herself a Jack and ginger. That's when she heard Addie!!!! being called out. She turned to see Kurt lunge at her and wrapped his arms around her waist in a drunken hug.

“You better be glad Krissy isn’t seeing any of this right now.” She teased him. Kurt chuckled. Oh how she missed her best friend. They’d be having a blast together in a place like this. It was like running with no running shoes; swimming with no water. It simply wasn’t the same without her around. I guess I just have to get used to it. She told herself and asked for a shot of Jack to chase her Jack and ginger. She had a feeling she’d need that before turning around and looking at Nathan and his bimbos. And then she heard an ever so familiar voice, clearing their throat.
