Addison woke up on her couch to the smell of cinnamon. A smile broke out onto her face as it reminded her about her mother. But why did her house smell like cinnamon? Then it came back to her. Nathan never left last night. He had sat down with her and held her in the crook of his arm until she eventually fell asleep. She was now shocked to figure out that he ended up spending the night. She got up and followed her nose to the kitchen. She passed the mirror she hung in the hall on the way to the kitchen and took a quick look at herself to straighten herself out. As she entered the kitchen, Nate turned around and smiled at her.

“Good morning.” He chimed.

“What are you doing?” She asked him confused.

“I figured you could use a good breakfast.” He stated. “You made us dinner last night so I figured I'd repay the favor. Plus, you looked so comfortable that I didn't want to wake you.” Addison felt herself blush.

“I can’t believe you spent the night on that couch.” She began. “What smells so good?” She tried to peak over Nathan's shoulder but he wouldn’t let her see. “It smells like my mother's French toast.” Nathan looked at her and smiled.

“Why don't you sit down and I'll get us started. I'm just finishing up the last one right now.” He looked completely at home with himself. She noticed that he was quite the messy cook too. There was flour all over the counter, some on the floor and she couldn't help but notice that he even had something on his cheek when he turned around with both their plates.

“Your pancakes, my lady.” He said with a stuffy accent and goofy manner. Addison couldn't help but laugh. They ate in silence and Nathan sat there watching Addison finish her plate. She noticed him watching her. It seemed like he enjoyed watching her eat.

“That was incredible.” She stated as he got up and took her plate. He gave her an appreciative smile.

“Well, I guess I should go.” He shrugged. Addison smiled and looked slightly disappointed. “Can I give you a lift to school?” He added.

“Are you heading that way?” She asked. He nodded. “I'll be over in half an hour.” She told him.

“Sounds good.” He finished. Addison smiled again. As Nathan pulled on the doorknob to the front door, Addison stopped him.

“Nate?” She asked him. He turned around to find her walking over slowly to him putting a hand on his chest and getting up on the tips of her toes.

“You have something on your face.” She laughed lightly and reached up to swipe it away with her thumb and licked the bit of icing sugar off of it with a teasing smirk on her face.

“I was hoping to keep that for later.” He joked and blushed lightly.

“Sure.” She flirted back. She was about to back away when she felt his arm come around her and pull her closer to him. He grabbed her chin with his other hand and tilted her head up. She knew what was coming and she decided that she wasn't doing anything to stop it. You kind of asked for it girl. Her conscience told her. He kissed her lightly on the lips, backed away, smiled, turned around and closed the door behind him.

Addison found herself staring at the front door, temporarily unable to move. Her lips were tingling and her lower back was on fire, where he had grabbed on to pull her in. She didn't know what to think of what just happen. You know you can’t trust him, Addie. Part of her was thinking. But why was her gut telling her that she could? She ignored that first thought, touched her lips and smiled to herself and then ran upstairs to her room to get dressed and grab her books.

Half an hour later, she was at Nathan's front door. As she was about to knock, the front door opened. Kurt was standing there.

“Addie!” He exclaimed loud enough for the entire neighborhood to hear him.

“Hi Kurt.” Addison greeted him.

“So how was Nate last night?” Kurt pressed. Addison was caught off-guard. Thankfully, Nathan came out and interrupted their conversation.

“Kurt, shut up.” He said slapping Kurt upside the head lightly and smiled at Addison. Addison looked at him with an air of suspicion. Was he really who he seemed to be? She had a sneaking suspicion that there was more to Mr. Nathan than he was letting on. She made a point in finding out.

“I'll let you ride shotgun but only for today.” Kurt told Addison as he rushed by her to get into the back seat.

“Who laced your coffee with speed this morning?” She mumbled and Nathan chuckled. They got in and drove along mostly in silence with the exception of the radio. Addison caught Nathan stealing a few glances her way at one of the traffic lights. She looked out her passenger side window and smiled to herself. This might very well be a great start to a new life. She thought to herself.
