DONT THINK: part 2

"Maybe I won't have to think if I go."

"Maybe."

I started backing out of the parking spot(s). Kyndall's phone made the sound of a clicking keyboard as she started texting. We drove.

"So you're in a band?" I asked.

"Yeah, me and my buddy I was on the phone with."

"What kind of music? I'm getting an edgy punk vibe."

He laughed.

"It's pretty all over the place, we do our own thing, there's no genre for it."

"So, like the sink song kind?" I asked. He made a weird smile.

"Yeah... Kinda."

My phone started to ring. Mom.

"Hello?"

"Kyndall! I just heard what happened! Are you alright?" She asked.

"I'm fine, I'm with a friend right now. I'll call you of anything happens."

"Okay, be safe, love you."

"Love you too." We hung up. I was starting to think again.

"What do you like to do?" Josh could tell I was thinking again and quickly fired me the question.

"Umm, I don't know?" I couldn't think of anything cool or interesting.

"Well, obviously you snowboard, what's something that no one knows about you?" He asked. I felt myself laugh a little.

"Ah! You thought of something! What is it?"

"I feel like a mom saying this, I have a lot of house plants, but that's pretty boring."

"Nah, it's not. Are they the like the cute hashtag aesthetic succulent ones or like, mom plants?" He asked. I laughed.

"Like, both? On that scale I think I'm around the mediocre cactus chick."

He laughed.

"We're here."

We were close to the built up part of Columbus, in the nicer living area. With hair like his, I would have thought he crashed in a small one bedroom apartment with like a fish, but instead I found myself in the lobby of a super nice apartment complex. I had never seen apartment with an elevator before. We stepped in. He pressed the number 5.

"This is like, really nice," I said, looking at myself in the mirrored walls.

"Yeah, it's a great place to live." He said.

"You know what I just realized." I said.

"What?"

"I'm still not wearing shoes." He laughed.

"Ah you'll be fine." The elevator made a ding noise, then opened. His apartment was close to the elevator. The door opened for him just as he got the key into the door knob. A boy with a buzz cut opened the door.

"Yo Josh!" I assumed this was Tyler. They hugged, sort of as a joke, like they hadn't seen each other in a long time.

"Whose this?" Tyler asked.

"I'm Kyndall, nice to meet you." We shared a good hand shake.

"Tyler, Welcome to Josh's apartment." He said. I laughed.

You could tell a guy lived here. There was a really big flat screen TV on the floor in the living room facing a leather couch. Video game controllers were strung out on the beige carpet. The walls were pretty plain, not much hanging around. His kitchen was connected to the living room. The far wall was like a giant window, letting in lots of light. It was nice. I couldn't tell what was down the hall to the right, so I assumed it was where his room was.
