As I was walking, I saw a payphone; a different one from the first time. I wanted nothing more than to call Hanabi again, but I was hesitant. I mean, it's only been a few weeks since I last talked to her, it's not like I'm gonna die or anything.
But I also miss her. I was tempted, but whatever right, it's just a call.
I put the change in the little slot and quickly dialed her number and waited for her to answer.
". . . Hello?"
"Hanabi it's me."
"Hinata! What's going on with you now? Are you okay? Do you need help with something? Did anyone figure you out?" she kept bombarding me with questions and I stopped her.
"How can I answer, if you won't let me?" I giggled a little at her behavior.
"Sorry."
"I'm doing fine. Um..."
Maybe I should tell her about them.
"Spill it Hinata, we don't have all day remember?"
I took a deep breath before speaking. "Sasuke and TenTen are here, we got together, and I think we're friends again, they even have their own group too, and I guess I hang out with them."
"Wow! Really? You made some new friends?" She giggled.
"I don't know actually. I think? Maybe more like acquaintances. Yeah that's better."
I could practically hear her roll her eyes on the other end of the phone. "Whatever.. So does that mean they know about the wig and everything?"
"Not everything. Just the wig and eyes." I said ashamed. "And.. father?" I had to literally force the words out my mouth.
"What about him?"
"Um..is he.."
"Oh! Er, he seems. . . distracted these days."
"How so?" I lifted an eyebrow. Has the old bastard miss me already?
"I dunno. After, at least two weeks after you went 'missing' he seems different, but it could be something else, like I said, I don't know for sure."
We both paused a little before she began to speak again, after she sighed.
"Hinata, I think it's getting worse."
"What do you mean?"
"I heard people talking, saying that the police finally found some evidence.. but that could just be a rumor." she quickly said the last sentence to reassure me.
I sighed a little, I didn't know what to think now.
"Should I go someplace else for just in case."
Although, that sentence left my mouth, it made me feel kind of sad. Yes, it was true, I kinda didn't want to leave, but if I wanted to stay hidden, then it's for the best.
"NO! Are you kidding?! I said those were rumors, don't leave because of gossip. Meeting new people is a huge thing for you, I want you to be happy for once."
I held a sad smile on my face. She wants me to make friends. She always telling me to stop being an-.
"Stop being some type of anti-social, wallflower."
'Aannd yup, there it is.'
I'm social! If anything, I'm a social butterfly: talkative and beautiful.. Yeah right, who am I kidding?
"I bet you sit in the back of the class, staring out a window or something, like in the cartoons and stuff."
. . . Okay . . . she has a point..
