"The ghoul, Mad Hatter, has escaped from its prison. Please take precautions to prevent being a victim." A news reporter said in a brittle voice.

I turned off the TV. Pathetic humans. No one can escape from the Mad Hatter. Even if they did escape, they would die sooner or later.

Oh, and it's nice being home again. After all these years in that little prison, I finally escaped. It has been utter hell. I couldn't get my hands on fresh, tender flesh that time. Thanks to the CCG.

Now that I'm free, I can hunt whenever I like.

I felt my stomach growl. Now it's time, I, the Mad Hatter, will strike. I smirked at the thought, and headed towards where I've kept my mask. I opened my drawer, and I felt blessed that my mask was still undiscovered. I brushed my fingertips against the old leather mask. It was decorated with a grin that has been stitched with a white thread. There was a strap which I could tie at the back of my head. I placed it on, moving my neon orange hair out of the way.

I got out from my little home. It was night already, perfect timing. I jumped from building to building, searching for a perfect victim.

"Hey, do you think Mad Hatter will strike today?" I heard a girl speaking. She had the most frightened look on her face. Ha! Amusing.
"I..don't..know..let's be careful, okay?" The other girl said, trembling.
The first girl nodded. They parted their ways, going home. Hm, their flesh seemed delicate, but the first one is much more plump than the other one. I'll go after her.

I quietly followed the first one. She didn't go home yet, she headed towards a vending machine.
Perfect.
As she got her drink, she turned around and met my red pupils surrounded by black sclera. She got the most frightened expression, and was lost for words. I begin to laugh. A laugh that's completely twisted and insane.
I let out my vibrant rinkaku kagune and grinned, but I knew my victim won't be able to see it because I'm wearing a mask. Oh well, at least my mask has a stitched grin on it.

"Let's play a little game. You can be Alice and I'll be the Mad Hatter~" I chuckled.

She let out a deafening scream. Ah, such amusement. Now she'll be begging for her life~

I stabbed her shoulder with my kagune, and she fell on her knees.

"What's wrong? Don't you want to play? Or maybe we'll play with teacups?" I cooed.
"Please..I..don't want..to die..I'm sorry.." She pleaded.
"Sorry won't save you. After all, I'm hungry~" I laughed again, as I bent down, leaning towards her. She looked up at me with a scared look, and trembled.

"My dear, no one ever escapes from the Mad Hatter." I cooed near her ear. I could hear her soft sobs, and mumbling, 'Help'. Such a cute look that I want to tear off her skin with my bare hands.
I then collided my fist with her chest. Her eyes widened at the sudden collision, as the tears on her face dried. I then took out my hand from her body, holding her dead heart in my own, bloody, hand. She fell to the ground, surrounded by her own puddle of red liquid.

"Yay~" I chuckled. "But meh, I'm a kind ghoul, so I'll spare the heart." I said, as I threw the lifeless heart to the ground.
I then peeled off her skin, and lifted my mask. I delightfully ate the tender skin.
Once I was done, I licked off the blood from my fingers. I then took out a white rose from my pocket, and dipped it in my victim's blood. I left it near the corpse, for I've strike again.

"I wonder who's the real monster here~" I chuckled.
